Sorry... just wanted to see if what Drew said was true about the "Boobies" turning automatically into "boobies."
Well wonders never cease...

Don't worry. Cancer will kill him sooner or later.

Who? Fb-?
2002-04-10 10:07:39 AM
I submitted this exact same link last night.

Just thought you might like to know that. ;)
2002-04-10 10:08:43 AM
No.. we don't give a shiat. Just as long as the information is shared. :-)
2002-04-10 10:09:44 AM
About who submitted the link, I mean. We give a shiat about cancer.. don't we?

I do. Scares the shiat out of me, and I'm only 30.

I get a 8 minute standing Ovation when i leave a building.

Just thought you might like to know that. ;)

I saw that game last night, and the best part was the Canadiens actually made it into the playoffs, so Koivu gets the chance to play some more. Don't know how long they'll last against Boston, but at least they made it :D
2002-04-10 10:12:20 AM
Bastard is playing for the other team. I say, let him die.

Cancer is a wimp and probably a government conspiracy. It's the flouride in our water!
2002-04-10 10:23:28 AM
Fine. Everyone who goes into remission should get an ovation; not just some shmuck who gets paid obscene amounts of money to be a puck-thumper. Next time one of your co-workers comes back from a long illness, show them the love. Then I'll buy into the appreciation.

Don't get me wrong...I like sports (not much into hockey, though), but I get so farking sick of this idol worship. "Ooh...you can run and jump? Can I touch you?"

My bad...

Saku Koivu is an inspiration.

Fb- is just Fb- [or is he?!]
2002-04-10 10:28:52 AM
You forget he plays on a canadian team Allanhowls. lol

Go Habs!
2002-04-10 10:28:57 AM
Hats off to Saku Koivu, he is a hero.
2002-04-10 10:29:49 AM
Allanhowls: I agree, a person who comes back from cancer to resume a desk job deserves no less. It's just that it's inspiring to see a public figure - in this case, a hockey player - beat the disease. Guys (and gals) like Koivu, Lance Armstrong, Mario Lemieux, and others hopefully give other patients (and the rest of us) something to look up to.
2002-04-10 10:30:25 AM
leave it to a hockey player to kick cancer's ass!
2002-04-10 10:31:22 AM
Agreed. I'm just feeling a tad bit cranky. Idolatry does that to me. Except for Fb-. He deserves deification. Or not. Something...feh.
2002-04-10 10:32:06 AM
hrm. hero? if hadn't displeased our just and righteous God, he would have been spared the pain of cancer.

I am sure if you look at his life, he has likely strayed. Koivu doesn't really sound like a good Christian name. Coincidence? I think not.

Didn't a hockey player lose an eye and just come back this season?
2002-04-10 10:36:15 AM
The way the much hated Habs are playing - the Bruins must be very worried.

Haha, I can't wait for the playoffs.
The only other person I can find in this Godforsaken hellhole who's seriously into hockey is my ex, and she's a Habs fan.

And, as you all know, I'm very much a Bruins fan.

We're going to kill each other, then the Bruins will win. Aahahahahaa...
2002-04-10 10:45:03 AM
Feh. Habs. It's all over in round 1.

FB-, is that your little tribute to Roger Neilson's battle with cancer?
2002-04-10 10:47:44 AM
BSCavalier - It was Brian Berard, defenseman for the Rangers this season.
2002-04-10 10:50:35 AM
why would you link to yahoo? why not use an article from montreal??
2002-04-10 11:02:20 AM

Roger Neilson is a saint. Don't speak about him like that!
2002-04-10 11:06:12 AM
Hockey is for Hicks.
2002-04-10 11:07:10 AM
Wow fb- isnt a totalfark member. Why?
2002-04-10 11:07:26 AM
The Flyers actually got rid of Neilson because he had cancer, remember?

And Berard didn't lose an eye, he just has like 20/400 vision in it or something like that after getting hit with a stick a couple years back (it was an accident).
2002-04-10 11:11:54 AM
Roger Neilson may not be such a saint.

And ElwoodCuse is right, Berard took a stick to the eye from Marian Hossa, and his vision int hat eye is horrendous. But he's adjusted, and plays pretty well, all things considered. Not like he was, but not bad either.

"We know that hockey is where we live, where we can best meet and overcome pain and wrong and death. Life is just a place where we spend time between games"-- Fred Shero (a Flyers saint)

FB-, if you're such a farking Flyers fan, you should be kissing the ground the HABS play on. They were your farm team for the 90's.

"A sold-out Molson Centre crowd of 21,273 ......"

I guess a sporting event isn't worth going to unless you know someone might croak right in front of your eyes, huh ?

Maybe this will be a new way of having Canadian hockey teams turn a profit so they can stay in Canada.

Bruins...fear our "mission from god" - "cancer beatin'" - "captain courage" - "7 wins in a row during crunch time" - "theodore hart trophy winnin'" ass.

HALTE LÀ, HALTE LÀ, HALTE LÀ...les canadiens sont là !

2002-04-10 11:37:00 AM
Sweet ass headline by the way.

2002-04-10 11:41:53 AM
Believe me Rmdw, nobody fears the New Jersey Devils anymore. When they let Mogilny and Arnott go, they became just another speed bump for the upper echelon teams in the East: Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto, Ottawa.

Joe Nieuwendyk will do his usual "my knee hurts" act in the playoffs and Elias will disappear into the woodwork without Arnott to protect his ass.

The teams that everyone secretly fears in the playoffs are: Montreal (best goalie), Edmonton or Vancouver (both are just flying now) and Colorado (getting it all together, and might have Forsberg back).
2002-04-10 11:48:37 AM
"theodore hart trophy winnin'"

Hmmmm. I'd bet that Roy will get it before Theodore, though the voting will probably be pretty close. Both guys have really carried their teams this year, though Colorado clearly has alot more talent, and therefore fewer excuses as to why they're relying on their goalie.

Patrick Roy 1.94 32 23 9 .925
Jose Theodore 2.12 30 23 7 .931

Damn if their numbers aren't insanely close, though.

As a lifelong Rangers fan, I can say that I am glad that the team is in the basement so long as this p is on the team.
