2002-04-05 12:58:52 PM
....Aren't cloned cows really just like regular cows, I mean, JUST like regular cows, in the sense that they are REGULAR COWS who just happen to have the same DNA? Why would there be anything wrong with the milk? I dunno but I'm sure this is going to result in the end of the world and the colapse of the US economy some how
2002-04-05 12:59:11 PM
Yes, what is the big deal. The cow is still born natually. It is not like are going to start growning them on trees or in dishes. Our gov't has the clone thing bass ackwards.

2002-04-05 01:01:40 PM
Nope....don't mess with Mother Nature, I say.
2002-04-05 01:02:01 PM
Oh, and yes, milk from clones would be cool.
2002-04-05 01:02:37 PM
I just read on the BBC where some Italian doctor is claiming to have a woman 8 weeks pregnant with a human clone. I bet if the clone baby grows up to be a hot Italian chick, there is someone out there that would be willing to drink a little clone milk.
2002-04-05 01:02:59 PM
What is Cosmiverse? Some kind of cult site? like the Scientology thing? hmmmm....
2002-04-05 01:03:33 PM

I try not to get emotionally involved with cow milk.

In fact, the less I think about it, the better.

I don't understand why people think this milk would be somehow different. They're clones! They're exactly the same! Well, in every way that impacts the milk they are, anyway (the chromosome ends can be shortened in clones). But a lot of people are so worked up by dim memories of old horror films about mad scientists, that they are afraid anything associated with "bio-engineering" is somehow poisonous.

"Any new technology needs to be deemed safe," said Susan Ruland of the Washington, D.C.-based International Dairy Foods Association, which represents 85 percent of the dairy-based companies in the $70 billion-a-year industry.

Haha. The food industry lobbies continually to be allowed to add more toxins, pesticides, growth hormones, preservatives etc. to our food, and they're concerned with FOOD SAFETY?

2002-04-05 01:06:53 PM
Does it matter?

Note the goatee on the evil clone milk. Everybody will be fine if you DONT DRINK THE DAMNED EVIL CLONE MILK! HE HAS NO CONCIENCE! HE WILL SMILE IN YOUR FACE AND STAB YOU IN THE BACK!
2002-04-05 01:13:33 PM
Sure, the cows will still be cows...just like identical twins. No big deal on the milk.
The big deal would be when (and it's only a matter of time) you have the enitre herd geneticaly identical and a virus that would normally leave a few survivors takes out the entire herd.
2002-04-05 01:13:37 PM
Sure, why not?
2002-04-05 01:16:36 PM
Optikeye but thats no reason to *not* allow farmers to take that chance.
2002-04-05 01:16:42 PM
C'mon folks, I need some Episode II puns here.
2002-04-05 01:17:48 PM
