Why does the headline say "Israel" is praying for this? A bunch of _religious fanatics_ who are praying for this. There are a lot of people in Israel praying that the peace process does work. And you may be surprised to find out that there are a lot of people in Israel who don't pray much at all. The religious nuts just grab all the press.

/that would never happen in the US....right?

Palestinians=asshats following a brutal religion that should be outlawed. The kids keep a powerful killing machine of an army at bay with freakin rocks. If they had slingshots,there would be another exodus within weeks.

It might help if your post was remotely coherent.

Crackwhore_the_Barbarian is on to something. It is religious fanatics feel they have a right to the Israel of the O.T. That's what gives religious folks a bad name. In secular politics, you can give a little, because you do not view support/opposition to your views as good or evil, only ours and theirs. When everything's good or evil, you have nowhere to go but the barricades.

I already posted this in the pot-smoking forum, but I'll say it again.

When I was in Israel, almost all of the people I talked to were pro-peace and thought Sharon was a twat. The only people that were against it were my religiously extreme uncle and his family. It's a little like how the rest of the world views Americans on Dubya and the Iraq war.

Actually, the wackjob conservative Christian right back the Israeli zealotry because they need the Jews to conquer all the holy lands. Only this way can the Book of Revelations come true, the Rapture occur, and Jesus can come marching back down to earth to smite all us unbelievers. Mind you those'unbelievers' also include the Jews who conquered the holy lands and made it all possible. Jesus is one ungrateful mesiah, ya ask me.

Incidentally, the people who sincerely believe this are the same people who have been advising Dubya on foreign policy concerning the middle east for the last four years.
