1 democrat is not "the democrats"

Enron actually WROTE Bush's energy plan for the nation, I doubt that's less horrible than one moron who happens to be a democrat kissing ass to some big record companies.

The author was only right about one thing, this kind of stuff usually is done by the republicans.

Media biased towards democrats?

Democrats biased towards the Media corporations?

Surprise, Surprise!
2002-03-08 01:02:14 PM
Yee. Friggin. Haw.
2002-03-08 01:02:48 PM
Ok, CRC, just don't forget that the Democrats are bought and paid for by corrupt big labor.
2002-03-08 01:03:13 PM
My thoughts on all clearly biased, partisan political reporting:

The ground rules:
All Democrats are Liberal tree- and terrorist-hugging hippies.
All Republicans are money hungry baby killers.
All Independents are crazy retards.
Everyone else is a Socialist, Fascist, Racist, nazi, Communist, or anything else, and there fore can be reffered to soolectively as a$$wipes.
Please, someone have something to say that doesn't fit into one of those four categories.
2002-03-08 01:03:35 PM
hmmm...a report bashing dems from fox news. what the hell is going on?
2002-03-08 01:03:36 PM
Wheeee! I love politics. Guess this is why no one votes anymore.
2002-03-08 01:03:41 PM
Yeah, like that evil media empire Fox, owned by known left-wing demagogue Rupert Murdoch! I quiver in my boots!
2002-03-08 01:03:44 PM
Gotta watch out for 'Big Entertainment' farking up our lives!

BTW: Enron just revised their numbers. They gave the Bush campaign 3 times as much as previously reported. AP reported it this morning..

But, you know, 300k to keep the Wayne Brady show on the air. That's clearly a much bigger deal. Thumbs up, Fox!
2002-03-08 01:04:25 PM
Or of course, the GE media conglomerate, where the CEO Jack Welsh is well known for his unyielding support of Democratic politicians!
2002-03-08 01:04:51 PM
Politician takes campaign donations??? I'm shocked, shocked and amazed I tell you.
2002-03-08 01:05:44 PM
If Enron wrote the energy plan for the nation then they get my thanks.

my rates have been dropping the past five years.

but oddly the cost for cds and dvds has been going up.

I guess that based on "james car-vile" since the democrats got more money than the rebulicans. The democrats won the game and it is all there problem.
Maybe that is why actors think their opnions matter.

they're all whores. sucking on the teet of special interest.
2002-03-08 01:06:24 PM
Actually, "the Democrats" is accurate in this case, as the SSSCA hearings seem to be split across party lines. (Here's a Wired link.)

In any case, the SSSCA is bad news. There are a few more links about it in here that I'm too lazy to extract right now.
2002-03-08 01:07:02 PM
Yo..... I got this buddy that moderates a message board
anyway he kicked this guy off and then he started recieving e-mails with child porn on them at his house

I know some of you guys are computer wizz's
not I.. I just work on one and read this BADASS webpage

what i want to know is If I gave you guys an IP#
could you figure out who this guy is ......
maybe reak some havoc on him?
2002-03-08 01:07:02 PM
should have had an obvious tag.
2002-03-08 01:07:44 PM
Evil entertainment industry... you mean all those bloody and violent war epics, and stupid Arnold Schwartzeneggar bloodbaths which are the pride and joy of Republican movie-goers?
2002-03-08 01:08:07 PM
I see how this works. The Republicans are supposed to be the only ones taking money in massive amounts. The Democrats should simply take checks for up to 50 bucks from individuals and quietly lose the election.

Repeat after me, boys and girls: scandal comes not from giving money, but from giving money and getting unfettered access in return. For example, Enron employees were invited to the white house to help write legislation and choose who should staff the president's cabinet. If the same thing happened here, feel free to go after Hollings with all your heart.
2002-03-08 01:08:07 PM
did someone just thank enron???
2002-03-08 01:09:29 PM
Everybody sucks. Let just kill all rich farks and start again.

I am so indie that my music will never be allowed to be on CD!!!
2002-03-08 01:12:12 PM
ROFL, Jynkst. You don't think the entertainment has been getting access through Democrats?
2002-03-08 01:12:31 PM
Bad_CRC:Enron actually WROTE Bush's energy plan for the nation

Man they really screwed up since they are bankrupt now because of it. So what Enron wrote must have been the opposite of what would benefit them therefor, the energy bill was anti-Enron.
2002-03-08 01:12:52 PM
How ridiculous to compare the Enron situation with the entertainment industry.
2002-03-08 01:14:41 PM
A true liberal would never bend over to big corporate buisness like this guy.
2002-03-08 01:14:59 PM
The Republicans shouldn't look for their own "Enron" example. If they are patiant, the democrats will cut their own throats eventually (Socialist almost have to be currupt and power hungry) and the Republicans won't look self rightious or hipocritical.
2002-03-08 01:15:34 PM
03-08-02 01:12:52 PM Gwinny
"How ridiculous to compare the Enron situation with the entertainment industry."

I agree... the entertainment industry is so much worse.

Dharma and Greg... (brrr)
2002-03-08 01:16:40 PM
Bear99: I wouldn't compare the two of those things. If CDs or DVDs get too expensive, you can simply stop buying them. If energy/oil gets expensive you have to keep buying it (in most cases) just to stay alive.

But this story is no surprise. The Democrats are no better than the Republicans when it comes to whoring themselves to the highest bidder. Of course, if the Democrats started strong-arming some foreign disc manufacturers into lowering prices to improve the profits of those who make and sell CDs/DVDs, they wouldn't be stupid enough to threaten war and cause a pre-emptive Jumbo Jet Jenga strike...

2002-03-08 01:16:45 PM
Jynkst & Gwinny: Right on.

Vexhex: You're so indie? Ha.
2002-03-08 01:16:47 PM
the republicans are apparently going to be against big entertainment (read big money).

i am so utterly confused.
2002-03-08 01:16:53 PM
"Such an approach would turn the Democrats' greatest political weapons into vulnerabilities. Are the Republicans smart enough to do that?"

tough call...
2002-03-08 01:17:54 PM
Fox News: would you like fries with that?
Will that be a LARGE fry?
2002-03-08 01:19:01 PM
Where did this piece of wishful thinking tripe come from? Oh... FoxNews, where the opinion page becomes fair and balanced "fact."

I will give them credit for one thing: their helmet hairdos are not to be believed!!!
2002-03-08 01:19:11 PM
This is all stupid. Get rid of them all and let the average joe blow who works on a farm get elected to office. I want people who are common people, not rich lazy people who only want to line their own pockets and others of their ilk. The earth is going to exist for a long time, and so our children will live and our childrens children... don't they deserve a nice society to live in thats about them. Not just about 1% of them?

sorry.. had to get that out of the system
2002-03-08 01:19:59 PM
disney is owned by republicans, genius.
2002-03-08 01:20:14 PM
Hey uh, are they going to cancel that liberal scourge, the Simpsons now?
2002-03-08 01:21:42 PM
Um, yeah. Let's see:

Enron misleading investors all over the country and screwing tens of thousands out of retirement funds while cleaning up on their own stock before it tanked

The inability to copy your music to your computer.

I know what I think is a bigger problem.

I am a generally-left-leaning person, and it bothers me tremendously that so many Democrats would be behind the SSSCA. But to compare it to Enron is so completely out of proportion that it boggles the mind.

The irony here is that it may turn out that the SSSCA is unconstitutional, while what Enron did may turn out to have been legal. That is scary.
2002-03-08 01:21:43 PM
"I milked the teet. You can actually milk anything with nipples. Well, I have nipples, could you milk me?"

Not verbatim but close enough.

I love the teet reference.
2002-03-08 01:21:57 PM
PS how is ENTERTAINMENT being mis-used even in the same league as a corporation which ruins the lives of thousands of employees and is involved in numerous illegal activities and abuses with our president and senate, and which shapes national policies to suit it's needs?

farking moron right winger.
2002-03-08 01:22:04 PM
the republicans are apparently going to be against big entertainment (read big money).

The computer industry is orders of magnitude bigger than the entertainment industry.
2002-03-08 01:23:01 PM
Republican garbage. This is a lie -- I heard it was lie in Yellow Times. Please do not post these lies. Bush is dumb and Gore won; take that.
2002-03-08 01:24:18 PM
ok mitch but where does that leave this issue?

really, i'm asking. i think i need to read the article again. no sarcasm.
2002-03-08 01:24:33 PM
Red99: you forgot your "irony" tags ; )
2002-03-08 01:27:51 PM
SoftRockRenegade, the computer industry does not want the government dictating its hardware standards, therefore, their money would be more directed at Republicans in this case.
2002-03-08 01:28:40 PM
Democrats and Republicans are only distinguishable by the animal totem they wear on their lapel. All the rest is BS and all your 'outrage' is playing along to the script. Politicians take money so they can keep their jobs, it is the way it has always been and always will be, stop being suckered into bitter pointless disputes.

Eat more baby seal.
2002-03-08 01:28:42 PM
"which would mandate the inclusion of copy-protection in every digital device and every computer operating system."

HAHAHA!!! This guy doesn't know much about technology. Hey, how did this turn into the pot thread? Him and Asscroft must have great times together.
2002-03-08 01:29:01 PM
SexOr: You'd have to go back much further than Clinton to see where the Enron problems began. Try 1979.
2002-03-08 01:29:07 PM

Shouldn't you say, "I couldn't believe that Daschle, Bunning, & Spector bashed Bush and the US Troops in the field for not catching Usama and Omar yet."? Don't want to leave anyone out, do we?
2002-03-08 01:30:41 PM
" "Keep your grubby laws off my computer" sounds like a pretty good slogan, and it's one that Republicans could use against Democrats nationwide."

The really sickening thing about the above statement, the whole article and politics in America in general, is that polititians don't view 'the issues' in terms of what might benefit 'the people'. The issues are merely tools with which to attack the opposition.
2002-03-08 01:31:12 PM
SLO: what i want to know is If I gave you guys an IP# could you figure out who this guy is ...... maybe reak some havoc on him?

Mere possession of child porn is big-time illegal and can get one some jail time. Your buddy would probably be smart to inform the cops who would have the resources to go after the sender. Another reason to do so is that the guy who's sending him the stuff may be planning to set him up by turning your buddy in. Just deleting the porn won't get rid of it entirely. If the authorities got a tip and searched your friend's hard disk, they'd be able to recover it.
