That was incredibly stupid considering us Baby Boomers. I love most new things, do not miss some old things.

I certainly do not miss segregation and discrimination. Sadly, too many of the younger generations are trying really hard to step backwards and restore those.

Music Is Bad These Days

There's always been shiat music. For every classic song on the radio, there were a hundred money grabs being made when it was recorded.

Though I'm technically from the tail end of the Boomer era, I don't identify with those geezers. My brother is 3 years older and we have a totally different mindset.

Every generation biatches about shit when they get old, so TFA is trivial. However, I will biatch about one thing that I consider significant:

Since the year I was born, the population of the world has doubled. Where there was one person, now there are two, occupying the same finite space and resources, and we're nearing the limits of that space. There are almost no wild places left anywhere in the world.

No wonder life has gotten tougher. We're stretching resources like never before in the history of the human race.

/Now get the fuck off my last vestige of open space lawn.

Strangely enough, my kids listen to songs from as far back as the 70s. They're 13.

Geez. I have as many issues with Baby Boomers as most people from Gen X, but I saw this ad on the article and thought the worst. (It's not what you think it is.)

Since this is an article that's meant to divide, I blame the younger generations.
/ not really, I just thought I'd be divisive

I really don't think it's the younger generation bringing us back there.  They're far more likely as an age group to vote for / support progressive social agendas.

You don't have to be a boomer to find fault with a lot of the current things millennials like.  You don't to be a millennial to find fault with a lot of the old things boomers like.

What I tend to find fault with?  Sweeping generalizations that pit one group against another.

Yeah, the "good old days" of casual racism and none of "those" people crying about not being equal.

If they're talking about the time working people had money, they can go back in time and vote for Walter Mondale so we don't get neoliberalism and its workforce-choking policies that only give money to the rich.

Seems like the 'boomer' demo gets larger every year. I've been hearing about it for decades. You'd think your standard 20 year cohort would die off eventually, but it seems like this particular one just keeps shifting. It's become shorthand for 'your parents' and seems like a meaningless term. For fark sake, I'm technically a millenial and I'm in my 40s now.

Oh, and you can't get tapioca pudding like they used to make it. Now it's all 'tapioca extreme' and 'cool ranch tapioca' or what have you. Thousands of tiktok videos of people eating tapioca pudding whilst snowboarding and riding in electrified automobiles or going on the interweb. IT CONSARNS THE BONES DAMMIT!

for farks sake why must we have three articles a week pitting one age of people against another. this is just what your government wants: divide and conquer.

I'm a old man and I love new stuff. we're living like The Jetsons. me, I'm going out on top. I already grew a 70's porn 'stache and I'm getting a mullet. because that's hip and "in" and I'm not afraid of the come and go of fashion.

I'm also considering buying 4 motor scooters so me, Mrs., niece and SIL can prowl the streets of SC looking for yard sales on the weekend. ride to live, live to ride.

And I love a shiat load of current music. don't be telling me all boomers are antique farks.

While we are reminiscing, I miss grandparents that actually gave a fark about their grandkids.

Both my boomer parents and wife's want fark-all to do with every last one of their grandkids - in stark farking contrast to our grandparents.

Every one of the 'problems' they've raised is a product of their own poor choices.

No good music - maybe you shouldn't have gutted the arts and maybe you should have - I don't know - actually paid for musical instruments and lessons.

People don't get together with HS/college friends and acquaintances? Well Facebook did slightly help there for a few years before the boomers signed in and farked it all up.

Also more people in the world today and we can't live in the same hometown our whole lives because you folks never passed the torch and moved out of your jobs.

Everyone's drunk on nostalgia for a bygone day that they don't even really remember correctly because either they didn't actually live in it, or remember it through rose-colored glasses from a position of privilege
