2004-12-26 04:23:24 PM
Go Jets!
2004-12-26 04:23:44 PM
Nice record.

Don't see them going far in the playoffs.

Peyton Manning is a class act. Nicely done. My congrats to you and the whole Colts organization.

/Packer fan
//Could have used the TDs last week in my fantasy league.
2004-12-26 04:24:01 PM
Go Cowboys!

ooops.. they suck. Go Colts! Close enough!
2004-12-26 04:24:01 PM
And I won $500 from his throw to stokley

I <3 Manning.
2004-12-26 04:24:31 PM
Wow... and doing all this with one of the leading rushers in the NFL.... can you say Disgustingly Amazing Offense?
2004-12-26 04:24:44 PM
Sturgeon637: Nice record.

Don't see them going far in the playoffs.

Yup. One and done!
2004-12-26 04:24:52 PM
Sure, greenlight the link that spells his name wrong.

Did you see Marino congratulating him? It looked like Dan was sucking on a lemon.
2004-12-26 04:25:04 PM
this game was amazing.
2004-12-26 04:26:14 PM
That was a great end to the game. Credit goes to all the Colts team and fans.

/dusgruntled choking Vikings fan
2004-12-26 04:27:16 PM
I bet he's been hanging out with Barry Bonds.
2004-12-26 04:27:28 PM
Such a great offense... sugh a mediocre defense, sigh... I want to believe in blue!
2004-12-26 04:27:58 PM
Good record, but the numbers seem a bit padded because of times when the game was in hand late and they continued to pass. Still impressive.

/Also Packer fan

2004-12-26 04:28:31 PM
I like how the Colts can blitzkrieg their way across Po- I mean, the entire field.
2004-12-26 04:29:49 PM
Kinda funny that it came on a shovel pass, though. Oh, well.
2004-12-26 04:30:28 PM
Peyton totally deserves it!

/Bears got screwed, are the refs blind?!?!
2004-12-26 04:31:35 PM
Go Pack!
Lambeau home game!
we offiically have a prayer

/congrats to Peyton!
2004-12-26 04:31:56 PM
It was awesome, kept his composure and everything for the extra two points. AND I love having to watch Gumble call the game winning field goal with such enthusiasm....jackass. How can they cut away from OT!!!
2004-12-26 04:32:54 PM
Here's your warning, The_Pink_Pimp. Please don't do it again.
2004-12-26 04:34:10 PM
pfffft. That's nothing.

My team's quarterback leads the league in interceptions

[image from i.cnn.net too old to be available]

Much tougher to do! And with a farking Ewok beard, no less!

/Bitter Broncos fan.
/congrats Payton.
2004-12-26 04:34:18 PM
Sweet game. I almost turned it off late in the 4th. Even with the suck-ass defense, I swear they can still make plays when they need to.
2004-12-26 04:36:29 PM
By the way, how come there is no asterik talk, given the new league rules regarding defensive contact. CB's have it tough this year... witness Champ Bailey who is getting smoked left and right yet is considered a pro-bowler.

/Peyton Manning- 49 TD's *
Dan Marino 48 TD's

Roger Maris 61 HR*
2004-12-26 04:36:44 PM
NEBRASKA RULES! ok..next year...maybe....
2004-12-26 04:36:51 PM
Five Inch Taint -

The shuttle pass tied the record, he broke it with a TD pass to Stokely.

/They still lost to the Chiefs
//disgruntled KC fan
///WTG Peyton, where were you when my fantasy game was on the line last week???
2004-12-26 04:36:55 PM
Five Inch Taint

He tied the record on the shovel pass. He broke it on a long ball to Stokley.

/Didn't get to see the winning field goal live.
/Damned NFL "contractual obligations."
2004-12-26 04:37:04 PM
Go Peyton!!! One of the classiest people in sports...well-played and well-deserved. I'm glad they pulled out the game--it would've been depressing for him to have broken the record without winning the game.

/Go Colts.
2004-12-26 04:38:18 PM
NOBODY will ever top AHMAN GREEN BABY! best RB...NEBRASKA native...we just know how to play football here in Nebraska!lol! GOD BLESS YALL!
2004-12-26 04:38:29 PM
Great game. He deserves it.
2004-12-26 04:38:40 PM
Touchdowns = 49

AFC Championships = 0

2004-12-26 04:39:01 PM

There were no NEW league rules this year on contact, just an emphasis on existing rules, which oddly enough, were emphasized in '84 when Marino set the record.

/football nerd
2004-12-26 04:39:24 PM
that's a nice little stat for him, but i can't bring myself to care because i hate the colts... now to go back to the jet game.

2004-12-26 04:40:56 PM
the afc has the advantage of using the dh, so manning's and marino's td totals are a bit inflated.

Randy Cross is truly an idiot.

How does this guy get to keep doing games?

I remember one time last year, he said, "Peyton Manning is literally shredding the defense."

Really? Literally?

Must've been messy.

Worst. Color man. Ever.
2004-12-26 04:42:51 PM
good for him. its hard not to cheer for manning and the entire colts offense, theyre just really really fun to watch.

- the bears did get robbed, but like every year, i look forward to our poor record helping us with the draft. *sigh*
2004-12-26 04:43:29 PM
Mike ditka: 432
10,000 peyton mannings...6
sri...SNL came to mind....
2004-12-26 04:44:59 PM
Yeah, let him bring that show to Pittsburgh in January and we'll see how well he does.

Still, very impressive.
2004-12-26 04:45:20 PM
And all it took was a nice rule change from the league. Peyton should thank the league for this gift.
2004-12-26 04:48:43 PM
Manning is a show-off, just like Marino was. Crazy record breaking, however. I agree that the Colts will be one and done. Pats and Eagles in February!
2004-12-26 04:49:32 PM
kaliwete, as noted above, there were no new rules, only old rules (this rule has been around for something like 28 years) being re-inforced, and they were doing the same exact thing in '84 when Marino had his year.
2004-12-26 04:51:20 PM
YA raping the recievers the entire length of the field was the only thing holding him..and the rest of the league back from completing passes...
2004-12-26 04:51:24 PM
Peyton == the man
2004-12-26 04:51:57 PM
and we will see in a couple of weeks, and when Manning & Co. go to the Super Bowl, I hope to see all you people saying one and done making new excuses on why the Colts aren't the great team they truly are
2004-12-26 04:53:58 PM
Congrats Peyton Manning
/given up on the Chiefs
//hopes for Steelers & Colts showdown

Bummed the Bolts lost, I like Peyton, nice work. Eli is another story.
2004-12-26 04:56:44 PM
Oh please. The league wants Manning to be a winner. For what ever reason, they have a vested interest in making Manning a hero. If the rule has been in place for years, why is it only now that it is being emphasized.

They want him in the super bowl.
