How do the Nets get anything other than an F- for their failed superteam?

The NBA is a joke.

The owner is still a billionaire and has zero f*cks to give.

The fans? Well, they are Brooklyn fans so.. make of that what you will.

Pandemic and Krazy Kyrie did them in.

How many games under .500 are they?

Dude, they still have Ben Simmons, so it's all good. Simmons is the perfect leader to build a team around.

Kevin Durant seems like an alright guy, Devin Booker though...

The honest answer is they were just KD's big toe away from making the Finals the year the Bucks won and, thanks to this trade, they netted enough draft capital to offset most of what they gave up to build this "super team".

However, as a very casual NBA fan, there is no doubt it's freaking hilarious what has happened to the Nets and, honestly, couldn't have happened to a more deserving team. Also, not sure how KD keeps up his good-guy reputation when he is frequently demanding trades and  quitting out of teams and leaving them in crappy situations all while defending Kyrie.

Wait a minute... Simmons is still on the Nets?? 😂

It's hard to think how the Nets recruiting could be any worse, except we have the Lakers to contend with. Also the Nets got out of massive contracts and got many of their draft picks back. So they look at it like a wash, rather than another wasted season.

Four #1s?  I knew Durant's price would be one, minimum, probably two, but......FOUR?

Suns do know the 2023 season is half over (in about a week), right?  This isn't 2017 KD, this is probably KD just about to start sliding down the apex of his career, KD.

Four 1s.  the role players we gave up, ok, salaries have to match (and Crowder wanted out anyways) but....four 1s.  astonishing.

The West is going to be a bloodbath, re playoffs.

and poor Brooklyn.  All they did to get Irving, KD, and SImmons, and now Simmons is I guess *smirk* the pillar of the organization.

uhh..........................KD quit on like, 2 franchises and engineered his way out.  Book stayed with Phoenix when we sucked, and is beloved in the Community.  The "worst" thing you could say about him is he's pretty reserved of the court.  That said he does do community appearances and has leaned into his Hispanic heritage, something he admits he never was really raised with in his native Michigan.

Book, a bad guy?  uh......ok?  i never heard of him getting into Twitter fights via burner accounts or asking to be traded from a championship team or as we saw last year, trying to engineer his way out of a team he handpicked (only to do it 10 hours ago).

Well I'm no Durant fan other than I enjoy watching him play so I'm not going to spend time sticking up for the guy if he's a douche on the internet. He seems to lack something mentally as far as killer instinct goes and maybe I cut him some slack for that, but also I'm not on twitter (or any social media in general) and I get my NBA gossip from Fark if that tells you anything. But watching Booker annoys me a tiny bit. He's a really good player but on the court he can be obnoxious, and as someone who doesn't root for the Suns that annoyance could quite possibly be amplified by seeing him side by side with Chris Paul. But I do honestly think it'll do Booker some good to be on a team with a guy that's better than he is.

I wonder if we can make a trade with New Orleans to get our old medical staff back. The ones who kept Nash, Hill, and Shaq playing far past their expiration dates. CP3, Book, and KD haven't exactly been the poster boys of health in recent years.

rickythepenguin: The "worst" thing you could say about him is he's pretty reserved of the court.

Booker is a whiny biatch on the court. That's why fans don't like him. Complains to the refs after every call and never helped teammates up or even gave high fives until Monty and CP3 got to town. Love having him for his scoring ability but between him, CP3 (who does more than his share of dirty plays), and now The Snake, we might have one of the least liked teams in the NBA. But it will all be worth it if we go all the way.

I miss Seth's shooting, but how weird is it to be coached by your father-in-law?

yeah, the local STR folks say that.  he does talk shiat on the court, gets fired up, but his off-the-court "presence" is kinda lacking.  he started doing commercials for a local energy drink chain, every grocery store/gas station has a life size cardboard cutout of him and the joke was, "this is the most we've seen Book in public since, well, ever."  some folks want the quote unquote face of the franchise to have a more fan friendly/public role.

but yeah to the "bad guy" or whatever you said - and not arguing with you or looking ofr a fight, that has just never been said of him, whereas KD beefs with folks on twitter.

uhhhhhhh, dudes shooting 57% from the midrange this year, with only Derozan shooting more midrange shots.

To put in perspective, there isn't anyone for at least a decade, if ever, haven't looked that far, to reach that %.  The closest are Leonard when he played 9 games and Curry when he played 26.

That's to go with his 60% in the paint, 77% at the rim and what 38% from 3?

He may not be an explosive driver anymore, but he doesn't really need to when he's a 7 foot shooting god.

Even Jordan in his last 2 Bulls seasons (the earliest you can check shooting stats at NBA.com), Jordan only shot 43% and 48% in the midrange.

So if your gonna go all in, why not go all in on that.

I won't disagree on Durant being a peenass, but Booker is basically the Memphis Grizzlies rolled up into one player.

TBF, people didn't hate the Pistons because they were good, they hated the Pistons because they ruined basketball.

They sure are. I don't know how you don't win with that roster, so I'm left to conclude that Rivers can't motivate or discipline. Need new blood at the helm.

When Curry was here, I used to imagine how awkward his Thanksgivings were. Seeing the boss on your day off? Making small talk when your wife's dad has seen you in the showers? Or let's say he felt super tired one day, is Doc thinking about what he was doing at home the night before? Lol.

Second sweetest. The best is when everyone agrees that the team you cheer for is simply the best and most professional in the Association, rather than hated by anyone.

Go Spurs Go.

Woof. I don't follow tabloid stuff too closely, but I'd hope the GM would know something like that about players he trades for. Wonder if he said "f*ck it, they can get past it" or if he had a blind spot.

Phoenix is a great place for an aging star who wants to finish his career compiling outrageous numbers, relax in the sunshine by the pool, pace yourself, and not have to worry about the pressure of a championship run.   An older star could do worse than that comfy team.

This move was done entirely to go on championship runs.
