If they don't do a Vancouver show, I'll be extremely disappointed.

Also, FTFA: Ministry, Gary Numan and Front Line Assembly touring together?

I never got to see Skinny Puppy, however I did see Download although that was after Dwayne had passed.

Mark Spybey (Dead Voices On Air) and Ryan Moore (Twilight Circus, Legendary Pink Dots) performed with Cevin.

It was a really great show despite a somewhat confused audience.  Ryan Moore opened as Twilight Circus and it seemed like that was the first time that most of the audience had ever heard dub music.

The crowd really only came alive at the end when they played "Inquisition."

Weird to think it's a last tour.

I discovered them right after "The Process" came out, which was when they called it quits.  I spent nearly a decade just combing through their catalog and becoming obsessed with them.

It wasn't until I found the "Live In Dresden" album that I realized they were back and would be releasing new music and touring.

The new stuff is great but it doesn't have the same sort of vibe as the older stuff.  I've seen them three times on tour and they do a good show.

Met Cevin at the last one and started to say "Thank you" and before I got to that he stopped me and said "No, thank you.  If you didn't come out none of this could happen. All thanks are owed to you."

I know OhGr has had some serious injuries over the years.  Touring has to be exhausting and now a days nowhere near as lucrative.

Nice! I dug the first couple Download albums ("Eyes Of Stanley Pain" was my fave) but didn't follow that project much further.

I bet they put on a good show.

Even in the early days their live shows were spectacular.  Saw them live for the first time in 1988.  My friend had to cancel at the last minute so I took my girlfriends roommate. He had never heard anything from them. It was an  incredible show ( I thought Ogre was going to murder a fan that came up on stage ) and he became a fan nearly instantly.   After they reformed that have put out some very good albums. They have had many many side projects. The Tear Garden, OhGr, Download, to name a few have been great. I'm sure we will still have music from them in future.  Brap on you glorious music geniuses. On every SK album you were guaranteed to hear things you never heard anywhere else.

Being a hardcore pink dots fan, I love tear garden and discovered Skinny Puppies that way. The Process is essential 90s.
That said, more of a tear garden fan, curious to see if they become more active or if Cevin Winds up outright joining the dots.

Here ya go. The full show. (subby, btw)

This is the one that started it all for me. My girlfriend at the time kept bugging me to check them out, and wooooooooow! It took me about 3 listens to wrap my head around it (loved it, but it was so unlike anything I ever heard). Its like someone describing an acid trip to you, then actually experiencing one.

Not so CSB -

One of my first concerts was Download in 1996 at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit.   After the show, Spybey & cEvin were hanging out, talking to people and signing autographs.  Ended up talking to Spybey for a while about music, as their tour bus had blocked my car in the parking lot.

My buddy & I ended up removing the lugnut covers from one of the wheels on the tour bus as souvenirs, which started a tradition of collecting lugnut covers from tour buses whenever Skinny Puppy or a side project went on tour.

I only saw them once, in 2015 on the Down the Sociopath Tour in San Diego.
Ogre was auctioning off his stage worn wardrobe for charity. It was a white polyester suite that didn't stay white for very long. It was a silent auction so on my way in, I asked the guy at the merch table who was taking bids how much the suits were going for at previous shows. He said anywhere from $150 to $750. I put in a reasonable (for me) bid that I was sure would get beaten.

Throughout the show, huge syringes full of different colors of fluid were jabbed onto Ogre, and he'd periodically take one off and squirt the contents over his face and the suit. It was really cool to see the transformation of the pristine white suit change to a multicolored dripping object.

At the end of the show I stopped at the merch table to see what the winning bid was, the guy asked my name, and when I told him, he said that I'd won. I was shocked, but excited, but had a "holy crap, what the hell am I gonna do with this" feeling all at the same time.

this was November 2015, I hung each piece separately as I was unsure if the liquids Ogre squirted all over the suit would mold/mildew. That darn suit didn't dry until February 2016!!!

once dry, I hung it back up in the garment bag it was handed to me in, then placed it in the hall closet. I had plans of getting a mannequin, building an acrylic box for it and mounting it on my office ceiling since I have a cat who'd scratch the crap out of it, and a dog who'd shed all over it. I even aquired the mannequin. But I ended up using that in my Halloween decorations so there the suit hung in the closet for years.

In 2020, Martin Atkins started The Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music. At some point he made social media posts asking for donations of cool items related to those genres of music. In return, those donating would be founding members of the museum. I contacted him and asked if he wanted the suit for the museum.

I had mixed emotions about sending it. 1, I knew it was going to go to a great place and would not end up tossed in the dumpster w/the rest of my stuff upon my death, but 2, it was REALLY F-ING COOL!!!

In Sept 2021 I got to go to the museum to hang out with Martin, Chris Connelly, Charles Levi, and many other founders of the museum.

Very nice. I never had a VHS copy, but I definitely watched it at somebody's house back in the day. Such a trip. Wish I could go see them on this last tour but, alas, I've currently got a client starting trial the day they play in Minneapolis.

Twin Cities people, if you haven't seen them ... last chance for an absolute blast. May 1st at the Fillmore.

Sadly, it's coming nowhere near me (Hampton, VA). Closest is Charlotte, NC, and that's a really long way for me to travel, especially since I don't drive. Hopefully they'll have a live video of it.

Going to try to get my tix tomorrow morning.

CSB time: I've crashed on Cevins couch. Friend of mine who was living in Seattle still back then asked me if I wanted to go to LA to catch the last show of the 1st Ohgr tour since he had no means of transport. I was on my mandatory "contractor break" from Microsoft, so said "Yes, road trip!". It was a surreal experience and his girlfriend at the time even hit my car (minor damage). She felt so bad and wanted to contact her insurance, but the damage was so minor, I found it hilarious.

know what you mean.  Its a tad less experimental/sample driven and lot more structured now that their clean and getting along, which is totally cool of course but there's something mighty special about the industrial madness they made when they were REALLY f*cked up & dysfunctional

Yeah, I have a hard time holding a grudge against them.  They did what they did and they lived.  The spirit of that is in the new music but at the same time it isn't.

Honestly I'll probably throw a bunch of money at Cevin's Patreon and buy some merch to assuage my guilt.

it made sense...
I didn't learn of SP until 1991, them and most of the music I now listen to now. I grew up in rural Michigan and didn't hear "underground" music until I joined the navy.
