On the Plane Train in ATL Hartsfield Airport, I stood next to 2 older gentleman. I wasn't paying attention but I heard the words Morehouse and Princeton and that made me perk up and look at the two. One was an older white guy and the other an older light skinned black guy who looked like my dad.

White guy: Morehouse? Did I hear you correctly?
Black guy: Yes, Morehouse and Princeton.
White guy: Are you sure?
Black guy: I'm pretty sure
White guy: I think you're mistaken, because that is a historically black college.
Black guy: I *am* black.
White guy: *stunned silent*
Me: Oh hi, I'm a Morehouse man, class of '99. What year were you?
Black guy: 1964
Me: 64? Wow, there was a lot going on then!

We exit and talk and it's fricking Dr Julius Coles, ex-ambassador and foreign diplomat among other things (his pic is here). That white guy didn't know who tf he was talking to. Dr Coles is a powerhouse.

Anyway, Happy Black History Month.

I'm sure Tucker will be complaining about assigning state department jobs on merit instead of race. Completely forgetting all the ambassador jobs that go to white guys with zero foreign relations background or language skills. All they needed to do was ask their drinking buddies to donate to a presidential campaign.

Great news. State needs a diverse staff. It's the right thing to do and it can be an advantage few other nations can come close to matching. There's so much nuance and detail to culture and customs that won't be noticed by people who haven't lived in it.

There's a unique opportunity here since Trump absolutely gutted the State Dept.  Diplomats with decades of experienced left the service.  And now Biden's hiring back but with diversity this time.  That didn't work out the way you wanted, did it GQP?

Im absolutely not against diversity, but it's not a guarantee that you'll get quality people in positions of power. These names are just a few examples of the fact that just because someone is black or female, it doesn't mean they can't be a stupid Republican asshole hellbent on destroying the country.
