Americans always blame someone else for the consequences of their own greed, degeneracy, and selfishness.
Instead of taking responsibility for being a nation of drunks and junkies, and doing something about it, we blame starving people in third world countries for satisfying our endless demands for more dope.

E_Henry_Thripshaws_Disease: this is old news, anyway wtf is wrong with Mexico?

Corruption fueled mostly by US dollars and guns.

I've had great times in Mexico when I've been, but then again I was in border cities (like Tijuana and Juarez) and resort cities (like Cancun and Cozumel).  I've never seen the rural areas or Mexico City.

I read an article about Americans 'invading' Mexico City. I can't find that one, but here's another:

Foreign invasion brings changes to Mexico City boroughs

It also said that businesses, especially those in Condesa, are adapting in order to cater to the large number of gringos living in the local area.
Long-established barberías now have "barber shop" signs for English-speaking eyes. Restaurants have English menus, and yoga studios offer bilingual classes, Milenio said.

Can't these people learn the language?  If you can't figure out that these are barber shops there's something wrong with you:

Wasn't the whole reason barbers adopted that type of signage because most people were illiterate way back when?

There's also something wrong with you if you can't figure out that ensalada means salad if you see it on a menu, which the Spanish word for is menú.  So confusing.  I also might be confused if I saw "roast meat" on a menu.  I'd ask "Dónde está la carne asada?"

I want to get in on this invasion.

When a visitor from Austin tweeted in February that remote working in Mexico City "is truly magical," a storm of indignation among Mexico City residents about remote workers from the U.S. pushing locals out of their own neighborhoods ensued online, Mexico News Daily reported earlier this year in a story about a Roma sandwich business's battle against the seemingly unstoppable forces of gentrification.

And the gentrification.  Cheap rents?   Cool!

No - I'm totally pro legal. I don't give a shiat if people want to take dope - their f**king business.
Just quit blaming what you choose to do (either as an individual or a nation) on somebody else, is all I'm saying.

Mexico is not some backwards country stuck in the middle of Africa reliant on humanitarian aid and shame on you for still viewing them through that colonial prism. They are the 15th largest GDP in the world with 130 million citizens and extensive economic and cultural resources.  Sure there are areas of abject poverty and violence, but those can be found anywhere including in the US.  Treating them like some toddler incapable of doing anything in the face of the US is shortchanging their own autonomy and highly patronizing. Mexico can and should do better, but they haven't yet and they have given in to the corruption and terrorism of the Cartels.

Even good ones have no flavor. I get plenty of fat in my diet, and no use for avocados. Had a tree for 11 years and threw away the entire harvest every year.

Let's learn to control our own ravenous appetites and degenerate greed before we go telling other people how to run their country.
It is not me who is condescending to Mexico here.

On reflection, I do have to admit that it is hilarious that this fellow thinks that "respect" for Mexico  involves holding them responsible for our degeneracy.
We have no right to "expect" the solution to our own weak, craven problems from other countries.
