The pic in the article, and the look on Owen Wilson's face, just immediately cracked me up.  I can imagine Owen's performance being silly and hilarious.

I'm just glad he's still doing cool work.  The man attempted suicide at one point but he is a brave actor who has been in several forever memorable films and he needs to stick around.

This just seems like they're making fun of Bob Ross. I do t se warmth, I see a ridiculous character that they are implying is someone who really existed. It might be fun, and I really like Owen Wilson, but this just seems like a cheap way to sell tickets.

I met Robert O'Reilly at the 2017 SVCC.  He was the sweetest most humble man I could ever imagine.  We were nerding it up so hard and he was so happy just to say hi to us.

The doc on Bob Ross was pretty interesting. He was a good guy mixed up with some crappy people. I still like and respect the guy, but it seems he wasn't as saintly as folks want to believe.

The view out of my bedroom window looks like a Bob Ross painting (I live in Canucklestan).
I would be very annoyed if this film besmirches his legacy. Should I take preventative herbal measures to keep my chill in check?

I'm a little flummoxed by the commenters who are concerned someone might make fun of Bob Ross. The man was not a faith leader. He was a likely high goofball that painted on public television. My siblings and I certainly made fun of him when we were kids.

I don't think he was particularly bad, but it sounded like it was a bit of the free love era in that community. If I recall, his soft voice that he said was because he got tired of the yelling in the military was a draw with the hundreds of ladies he helped get exited about art.

At least Hollywood is grasping that it's ok to go back to the model of filing off the serial numbers and making a legally distinguishable character if you are just going to do whatever the fark you want with a person (unlike Blonde)

Never quite got whatever Wilson's alleged charm is. He only ever plays himself: a smarmy, sarcastic brodude who loves the sound of his voice. It worked in Bottle Rocket bc nobody had seen that particular type of guy yet, but it wore out by the credits. He's coasted on it ever since.

They can't use Bob Ross's name for marketing & towards the end of his career, neither could Bob Ross.
