"Hours of investigation" by your detectives to learn there was a Nintendo Direct?  "Believedto be a SCUF student"?

JFC.  Within 10 minutes of getting alerted to the message, just get in touch with the dumbass student who sent the message and ask what he meant.  Assess if he's an actual threat, and act accordingly.  This isn't an episode of Columbo.  You don't have to pad the runtime here.

Nah man, these police academy dropouts had to take their once in a lifetime chance to act all heroically and be cool. Asking the kid what he meant wouldn't have given them much opportunity.

Odd crossover, but I'm down for it.

Well, if the "$70 for new first-party releases" rumor is true, we may have riots.

It would be really weird to do that so late in the system's lifespan.  Sony did it at the start of the PS5 being out.  I know about the rumor due to a listing that has since been removed, but it's just as likely a $60 game with a $70 special edition option.

That's already true in some countries.

IIRC, at one point I think video games in the UK were just the dollar price but in pounds, no conversion.  ie an automatic mark up.

Looks like Nintendo's confirmed the $70 price now. That sucks.

I paid for BOTW retail and the Expansion Pass. I paid $80 and I'd do it again. What Nintendo hasn't announced is if the have any DLC, and if they do will it be $10 or $20.

IMO, them shuffling around the base cost and DLC wouldn't change the value proposition.

Now, of they charge $30 for the DLC on top of $70 for Tears of the Kingdom, that would make me very annoyed indeed.

But those farkers know I'd still do it.

Looks like TotK is on the list that can use a Game Voucher.  So I'll be getting it that way.  For anyone that doesn't know, Game Vouchers are 2 games from a pretty good list for $100 and you can hold on to one or both of the vouchers for up to 12 months.

The vouchers are nice, but I prefer physical.  I'll gladly pay $70 for TotK (well, not GLADLY, but it's worth it), but it's that price point becoming standard that chuffs me.

I'm glad and surprised that the Metroid Prime remake is only $40, though.  I was sure they'd try to get full price out of that one after Skyward Sword HD.
