Uber doesn't expect its own operations to be making money until later this year.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAH. Yeah, right.

How often have they said something like this?

The era of "profits don't matter" could only have occurred during the 20-year span when money was cheap because interest rates were near zero.

The company reported $595 million in quarterly profit, but that's apparently due entirely to Uber's investments in other businesses.

AKA Uber has a second job because Uber isn't enough to pay the bills

If they can't make a profit when the drivers are absorbing most of the expenses, how do they think they'll be able to do so with self-driving vehicles? Get investors to buy the vehicles and "share" the profits?

Have the government shut down Uber.

Problem solved.

"But booze!  How will I get a car to pick me up?". Don't care.  I have NEVER used and Uber and I am alive.  Therefore it is possible to be alive and not use Uber.

Wages? That's socialism. We don't provide a legal contract for our mules.

Idk but it's $52 for me to get a ride to the airport tomorrow.

It's $49 for me to park at the airport for a week. Uber ain't the solution to many problems anymore.

I'm already using Cruise AVs for uber-like rides. It's about $1.70/mile. However, it only goes within the San Francisco city boundary. So I can't get a ride to SFO or even to Daly City. And no freeway travel (which is fine, SF is a small city, I won't be anywhere close to a freeway for where I'd be using Cruise.
