Which is interesting (?) considering the Ant Man movies are by far the least financially successful in the MCU franchise (pre-pandemic). Maybe this'll reverse that trend

I'm really digging the latest Quantumania trailers, I can even picture Scott taking the lead of the crew for Tony, I mean it.
As for Thor's last outing? Taika definitely f*cked that up by bringing back Portman AND the idiotic GnR abuse

I've heard some tentatively good things about Quantamania from people who've been able to see it, so I'm looking forward to it.

While you're not wrong, we are grading on a scale here. It only makes 3 times it's production budget versus 4 or more times. lol

I'd be up for a third Ant-Man... it's just that this one looks to be pushing the major Marvel story arc instead.  They've not really hinted at any of the humor I like so much in Ant-Man.

The rumors are there is some humor but Cassie is getting the lines as they get ready for Young Avengers in the future.

Korg handwaving away the deaths of the Warrior S3 without even their names told me in the first 3 minutes how well Waititi was going to handle this. He did great in a fish out of water story but he butchered Asgard worse than the God Butcher would have.

I skipped about 90% of Phase IV (well, I saw the first 15 minutes of most stuff, but finished nothing), So I'll check this out when it hits D+. It has to be an improvement.

My wife is a Marvel maven and up to Wanda Vision, we saw just about all of the output. I hated the first episode of WV and left the room. It reminded me too much of the stupid sitcoms of the 60s, which I guess was the point. Also ditched on WW:1984, stupid, stupid, stupid bad guy. Haven't seen any Marvel movies since.

Well the good news is that WW:1984 is not a marvel movie.

The bad news is that some marvel movies have had pretty atrocious bad guys.

Early reactions (which, take with a grain of salt, as they're a marketing ploy) say it is less humorous, but that it does a good job standing on its own as an Antman move, rather than just pushing the bigger narrative.

This. WandaVision is off putting at first, but it's a great show. Even in the sitcom pastiche episodes, there are great subversive moments that end up being very creepy as a result of the genre mashups.

For the most part, the D+ shows have been pretty good, but WandaVision and Loki are excellent.

I went back and did WV a second time this winter.  Haven't even finished Ms. Marvel or Moon Knight or Werewolf by Night.

It was weird when I took the fam to see No Way Home and we realized no single one of us had seen ALL the material necessary.  I hadn't seen the Garfield movies and they hadn't seen Daredevil at all.  It at least gave us something to tell each other about.  We just did NWH at home with my MiL who is getting in to Marvel stuff.  She hadn't seen ANYTHING, no Spider-Man movies, no Dr. Strange, just the Cap Track through Endgame and the D+ shows.  She found it...confusing.  I gave her a 1 sentence rundown of how Gwen Stacy died and when Garfield caught MJ she gasped and appreciated the redemptive moment for the character so it hit the beats right.

I loved Werewolf by Night.

But it is very very strange to me that it is apparently set in the modern era. I am not sure whether that makes it better or worse. Probably better, if only for cheese potential.

He is probably the most "faceable" face of Marvel since RDJ is donezo. He is a good comedian, does decent at serious, and does quippy well.

He might not be a money maker, but he isn't boring or too focused a character. Also, all his legs work.

I really liked The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Sam's journey from initially rejecting the shield, the consequences of that rejection, and then ultimately accepting the shield and becoming Captain America interspersed commentary on racism in America really hit home for me. I also really liked seeing Bucky being cured of the Winter Soldier brain washing and watching he and Sam's going friendship as they slowly helped each other find peace with what they've done and what they have been chosen to be was very satisfying.

Jonathan Majors is an absolutely fantastic actor, so - unless he got some horrible direction on what to do with the character - it should be worth it for his performance as Kang alone.

/I expect it'll be worth it for more than just that performance
//don't expect a whole lot of internal logic though, since the characters will be spending large amounts of their time on a sub-atomic scale but somehow still managing to breathe
