Loser who got kicked off the Houston Rockets and hasn't played in over a year is jealous of Lebron's success tweets an insult so for a brief moment he can be back in the limelight.
Go back to Turkey Enes and help sift rubble, at least then you'll be useful.

Don't be too hard on Enes over this one. He's been outspoken about corruption and autocratic, abusive governments for a while, starting with his native Turkey.

His criticism of Erdogan earned him a cash bounty on his head. If I remember right, he stood up for Houston's GM Morey when China brought pressure to bear on the NBA for his tweet in support of Hong Kong.

James said pretty ridiculous stuff about people criticizing China. Morey soon "retired." Enes doubled down, continued criticizing human rights abuses in China, and proposed a visit to Nike's factories there with Phil Knight, James, and Jordan. They weren't interested.

Enes is farking around with multiple corporations' multimillion dollar revenue streams and making himself an enemy to dictators.

Yeah, honestly I thought the tweet was a little douchy.

But taken in context of all that's gone on, I'll allow it.

Autocorrect burned me there... that should say "...multiple corporations' multibillion dollar revenue streams..."

LeBron is kinda a soulless self-promoting automaton, but he's not quite at Jay-Z level. Neither of them are at, say, the Steve Ballmer level or Phil Knight level.

But Enes Kanter, even though he couldn't play defense to save his life, plays hardcore.

Enes could break the record if he only managed to stick around for, oh, 70 seasons.   Maybe.

yahyahyah: Morey soon "retired."

Not sure what you're referencing here.  The day after he stepped down from the Rockets, he was announced as president of the Sixers where he still is.

Kanter's definitely made a lot of valid criticisms as you pointed out, but he's become a colossal douche lately, even becoming "one of the good ones" for the Fox News crowd.  This tweet was just more of that.

That one cost him a few fans here and is one of the better examples I can come up with off the top of my head of the importance of being familiar with something prior to speaking about it being a good idea for a public figure. It wasn't perfect, but the reaction of LeBron James to his own misstep was about as good as can be reasonably asked for on such things. He farked up and then owned it, good on him.

I don't like the China thing but I'm also not going to put on some community theater level bullshiat checking off the appropriate boxes about it outraging me like some of you with the Saudi Arabian golf tour and migrant workers dying for the latest World Cup. It is what it is.

Other than those two things there are some relatively minor items not to like about James but I think all of the good work he does with his position and money should get him more of the benefit of the doubt in terms of intentions, however awkwardly displayed at times.

That's something I missed and absolutely true. Also his leaving Houston was much further after the controversy than I remembered.

I got that totally wrong, thanks for calling it out.

Scorpitron is reduced to a thin red paste: LeBron is kinda a soulless self-promoting automaton, but he's not quite at Jay-Z level. Neither of them are at, say, the Steve Ballmer level or Phil Knight level.

And Russell Wilson is on a different level.

Well NESN is owned by the Red Sox, mostly, if I remember.

John Henry.

All that needs to be said.

All of this. Well said

Enes kinda went kookoo, but this isn't a new argument from him, and given LeBron's... well, "high school" education... he deserves some shiat for that whole China thing.

Lebron was more critical of Hong Kong democracy protesters than he was of Kyrie's anti Semitism.

Has there been a story on here about how Kyrie deleted his apology right before requesting a trade from the Nets?

/It IS interdasting that Lebron gets so much (deserved) criticism for his China comments while Elon Muks regularly tongue baths the CCP and went as far as saying a democratic alley of the USA should surrender to Red China, and there is very little criticism of Musk from the same quarters.

James deserves criticism for his statements. The tweet is over the top for the purpose of garnering attention. Overall I like James's attempts at speaking out. Certainly far better than what I'd expect from someone with a limited education for whom basketball has been the focus from age, idk 10.

He'll never come near Kareem in that respect though, of course.

He's right, you know.
