It'll certainly be uncontaminated by cheese.

It was inevitable. I knew old Italian mamas who'd travel from Queens and Brooklyn to pick up cheese (including the non-pasteurized stuff) at Alleva's. Now, almost every neighborhood has an artisan cheese shop with their own goats and cows stashed somewhere in Westchester or further upstate.

With a montly rent of 24k USD, their volume of cheese sold must have been massive. Or the cheese must have been very expensive.

Was going to submit this story with a headline referencing that, but then I remembered that the Food tab existed and checked here.

Subby here.

I lived here down the street from the Antonelli's. Previously, that was a fantastic cafe called Dolce Vita. They specialized in cocktails and gelato. It was a fantastic first date spot, and I'm very happy that the new owners have had tremendous success in what was one of my spots in Austin.
