Don't see why the right wing hate Mao so much. After all, he was the one who said "political power comes from the barrel of a gun", meaning that he embraced the second amendment fully.

Yes, again, freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences.

If you want to publicly say shiatty things, don't be surprised when other people use their freedom of speech to publicly point out that you are publicly saying shiatty things. If someone else decides to terminate their association with you because you said shiatty things in public and people noticed, that's your fault for saying shiatty things in public.

And yes, that is all ok. The professor does not teach in a vacuum. The musician is in a band. There are other people involved in these endeavors. Their lack of diversity and inclusion has a real impact on their students and coworkers, and there is absolutely no reason for these groups to sabotage their primary goals in order to pretend that someone's bullshiat opinion is worthy of consideration.
