What might hold Hardwick up is that he's been doing "The Wall" for NBC.  So no, he didn't fade into obscurity.

I like Stephen Colbert but I haven't been captivated by the shows he has produced, besides the late show. I wish him luck.

/Love his voice work, though

POINTS!

The original run was usually a good half-hour of fun every night. Hardwick had fine chemistry with the comics and the right energy, but shouldn't be too hard to replace. My only fear is they'd think it necessary to tone it down to run on a major network as opposed to Comedy Central.

Tooning Out The News is alright.

It's a good show to showcase comedians and no one will miss Hardwick

He was always a little awkward to me. It would not be hard to do better for sure. Plenty of comedians/hosts out there that are good natured and understand the internet.

I loved Letterman and O'brien. I can't even think of someone I'd like to see host a late night show.

Hell, bring in Conan to host this.

I'd like to see someone take on the old Bob Costa format. One guest per night, no audience, with a deeper interview and less flirting with the latest ingenue. My dream would be for it to be focused exclusively on the music industry. It wouldn't need to be just the artists. Hearing from managers, producers, engineers, concert promoters and venue owners could be very interesting.

I think Rick Rubin would be a good fit for that. He's been doing a podcast and that Mccartney project for Hulu, so i think he has the chops as long as it isn't a high energy "Look At ME!" show. Late late night would be a good fit for that. And they wouldn't have to compete at the same level as the other talk shows.

He has an hbomax show soon?

I dont really care for the tone of the article.  I dont care for Hardwick- but amc cleared him, and thats just not good enough for this author?   He must pay for eternity for his crimes of being a shiatty husband?

Well, Whose Line is wrapping up for good.  So Aisha Tyler should be free.

That is one of the most cringe-inducing shows in TV history.  it would be like if on The Price is Right a game of Plinko lasted the whole hour and was constantly interrupted by the contestants telling sob stories.

No to Nicole Byers.  Please no.  I can't stand her stylings on Nailed It! or the Cena'd version of Wipeout.

You spelled Tom Snyder wrong.

/but I do agree with you, that would make an awesome show

It depends on who hosts, and if the panelists/contestants are of similar caliber to the original run.

Hardwick was annoying, but he DID understand the comedians and how to feed the situation to emphasize running jokes over game show answers.

You know who'd be a good host for a new @midnight?  Craig Ferguson.  The irony of him doing something different but in that timeslot?  Delicious.  Especially since he's been a comedian, a late night host, AND a gameshow host.

Well, she already has experience being a poor replacement for Chris Hardwick with her Talking Dead-esque The Boys show.

/I keed, I keed, Aisha is great

We are not using that as an excuse to get the crazed Scotsman back on the CBS airwaves.

Another way of looking at this is that James Corden killed The Late Late Show.  And as punishment, we're sending him back to England.

I don't know if it was the writers, but Milana Vayntrub (Lily from AT&T) was always excellent on the show and might make a decent host.
