A 6th grader at a Georgia middle school is facing charges after deputies say he offered marijuana-laced bars to two of his classmates.

Rookie mistake not getting some to the teacher first.

Didn't see it in the article, but I'm assuming helicopter parents rushed their kids to the hospital?

If I were the teacher I'd give up and just join them.

"Hey kids! Who wants to go in a wild adventure like Miss Frizzle?"

...and then I'd be a Fark headline.

Are we sure the teacher wasn't behind this? 6th grade boys are among the most annoying creatures on the planet. If teacher was involved, I'm voting justifiable.

Be sure to keep those reefers hidden,
where you're sure that they won't be found.
And be careful not to smoke them,
When the Scout Master's around.
For he only will insist that they be shared!
Be prepared!

6th grade version of reefer madness, and the one kid was like fark it I'm going home to watch cartoons and eat a bowl of cereal.

The report says a paraprofessional at the school delivered a blue vape pen with no cartridge to the SRO on duty.

From one paraprofessional to another...

What sort of third world backwaters country would press charges on a six year old for something as mundane as marijuana?

Dope.

*sigh*

Stuff like this is probably why Georgia won't have legal recreational cannabis for years.

I was in my home state of California for Christmas. Made my first legal buy, and got a military discount. Mind blown.  I also tried gummies for the first time - like!

At common law an eleven year old has a rebuttable presumption of no criminal liability. That means he is assumed to be incapable of forming the requisite intent to commit a crime unless the prosecution can show demonstrate that he knew what he was doing was a crime by, for example, proving that he'd done it before and been reprimanded, or took steps to cover up the crime. State law may vary.

If those same kids got caught with a bottle of booze this story would not have made the news. If they were chugging cough syrup by the bottle the biggest concern would have been that they might have resorted to shoplifting to acquire it.

The same kind of backwater country where an adult can read an entire article thinking it's about a 6 year old when it says 11 year old and 6th grader several times

Maybe a little less pot when you were 11 and your brain was maturing and you would have an easier time remembering the details.

Most of the GQP wants eleven year old rape victims to bear children, or else! F'n monsters.
