I found this Pen.org article from last December which lists 176 books that were banned by Ducal County public class rooms. I am not surprised they involved black history, LGBTQ+ kids, adults and families. I was particularly pissed off they included ones about Rosa Parks, segregation driving blacks to flee the South and Native Americans.

They aren't being banned in the sense that it's illegal to buy them. .. they're being removed from the school curriculum, making it so teachers can't use those books or that school libraries can't have those books in their collection.

Legally that's totally different.  You can still go to a bookstore or go on Amazon and buy all those books.

It's almost as if the law was intentionally written to be so vague that schools would paralyze itself to avoid lawsuits from the "Karens of Liberty"

I remember the Chamblin Bookmine near the base from when I lived in Jacksonville. Every time I was in there, I always had it in the back of my mind that if a fire started, everyone inside that place was farked. The store is large, the inside is a maze, the building is old as dirt, and it's stacked wall to wall with old, dried out paper. It would be fully engulfed in no time at all.

I will soon find out what's so objectionable about it.  I just bought that for $4.19.  I also am getting the Roberto Clemente book for $3.59. I don't think I ever heard of that guy.  I'm slowly growing my banned book collection.  Thank goodness for used book stores.
