TIL: Phoenicians are not the sprites that live in the phone lines and enable the transmission of voice and data.

Who knew?

This is that pro life climbing asshole.  Nothing like showing how pro life you are by risking killing the people under you when you end up falling off the damn building

Hold on now, that is the proper nomenclature for people from Phoenix?

It is technically correct, but people tend to avoid using it because of the ancient civilization.  Usually use "Phoenix residents" or something similar.

Yeah, that is what I'd immediately think of and not some random city from today. Just seems like a weird choice.

Well, just shy of three decades after wondering I now know what "Bullring Brummies" means and it now makes sense. Thanks.

You can call them whatever you want, but people in Arizona call them "Phoenix residents"

He's right at that part of any long climb where he realizes that it's way bigger and a lot scarier than it looked from the ground.  He's probably getting tired too, but knows he has to keep going because it's easier going up than down and it's a shorter distance to the top.

Rock climbers do not normally use his style of climbing.

Knowing he's going to get arrested at the top is probably not helping his mindset.

He's also using holds that may not have been touched since the building was completed, and are covered with half a century or so of bird poop, exhaust soot and grime.  If his hands and feet get dirty, they are far less effective.

I don't think he gave a damn. He's clearly all about getting his agenda out there by being an attention whore. He's just lucky that building (the tallest in the whole state) got foreclosed on a couple of years ago and is pretty much entirely vacant.

/as is quite a bit of Downtown Phoenix, to be honest
