Not me. I do not gamble.

Well, except for the occasional lottery ticket. But, as Alabama remains morally pure and has no state lottery, I get mine during visits to Tennessee or Florida, sometimes Georgia.

$16 billion gambling debt is not my idea of good time, that's a weird South African white nationalist thing.

I put $20 down on a box for the game.  Pays $200 each quarter and $400 for the final score.

I got 4's for each team so say it's 14-14 at the first quarter and 24-14 at the half, I make out well.  It for a co-worker's fastpitch girl's softball league to it's a nice little donation even if I don't win anything.

I am surprised that 20% of Americans have $16 billion dollars. Joe Biden did that.

The people who provide that number are people whose job it is to predict that number and they do a very good job at that. Casinos don't have golden shiatters because they lose bets.

I still have 4 dollars left in DraftKings from the 50 I put it at the beginning of the season for fantasy football. They keep emailing me reminders and offering free bets

I think not.

At least it's not Student Loan debt, right 'Murica?

I had no idea that many people had $20 billion on their hands.

Many of those bets will be morans betting on their favorite team to do things said team is unlikely to do.

I probably won't bet on any. I at least save my money for something else to waste it on.

Ahem, we're talking about the big football game here.  It's not wagers pulled out of our ass.

It's Butt Gamble.

20% of the US population is 66 million. That's about $300 per person-bet (average). Seems high but I'm guessing the average and median bet amounts are very different.

What's the over/under on how many extra downs the refs will award the Chiefs?

Sports betting doesnt win by people losing.
The win by ensuring the same amount of money is bet on each side, then taking 10% of the winnings.  ($5 straight bet wins $9.50).

Thats what the lines do.  too many people bet on one side, the line moves to encourage people to bet on the other side.  All they want is parity and that 10%.  They dont know something you dont know.

Uh oh. You're not going to dig the gentlemen's agreement that both teams will being goingfor two on each TD to keep things interesting.

And some of us are just hoping the game will be worth watching and not a blowout.

I am interested on how they got from $1B legit to $16B total. 94% is guess work.  On the other hand, I did see multiple polls on betting this week, so maybe they are tapping that information.

I don't follow sports at all, but I do know enough to stay out of any place with a TV this weekend. And maybe next, who knows how long the post-game analysis will run?

A couple years ago (pre-pandemic), my wife and I went to Costco during the game. Seems like the other 80% of America was out shopping.

Close enough for government work...

Don't care who wins, just want the money balanced to guarantee a profit.

And they're more than happy to pay $1764.50 on that $10 eight team parlay that gets hiat.

/I even join in on the 'Happy Dance' when one of those gets paid out...
