That looks like a proper chowdah. Bacon or salted pork is key.

Obviously, the man who shaped European cuisine as an culinary educator for generations, not to mention brought his insight and skills to America for nearly as long, should have more BAM! in his videos to make them really POP!  I mean, the opinion of some dullard who needs excitement in cooking, is all that matters, right?

Cooks, yearn for 'boring' nights. We pine for them.
