Oh GAWD I hope they do this!! The blue wave in 2024 would be historically epic.

It would have a catastrophic effect if it opened all medications that are riskier than mifopristone to easy class action suits. Thank Dog the pharmacy company can open its massive wallet and unleash a kind of hell that will have these morons craving an afternoon in the Texas sun.

And fark you, morons, for making me cheer for Big Pharma's lawyers.

So, the lesson they took from the 2022 elections was "Clearly, we didn't try to ban abortion *hard* enough?"

Every time they lose an election they do some research to try and figure out why they lost.  Then they toss that report and say it's because they weren't conservative enough.

Oh god these fukers

/side note, shouldn't it be " pharmaceutical abortions" and not " medicine, abortion"

"I hope they do this" is an unconscionable statement, because it will harm and kill people and ultimately voting out Republicans isn't enough to change our policies for the better. That statement is essentially "I hope they do this so that abortion gets banned so my team will be in charge and won't do anything to fix it." Disgusting.

The conderpative rank and foul depend on confirmation bias to keep their cognitive dissonance at bay.

The upper.crust will always look for what is more cruel. They want the drooling hordes blessed with the self-righteous fury that used to only come from religious or racial zealotry. All because of political ideology: fascist or everything else.

What happens when one state or one municipality just ignores that one judge?

Not a god damn thing. That is what happens to that one state or one municipal.

Isn't this drug used for a lot of things that aren't abortion?

Also it's time for sane America to simply ignore the illegitimate courts.

Taking cues from the left on gun control and judge shopping.

A lot of the nationwide injunctions come out of Hawaii and the Ninth Circuit, since they know it's friendly courts to their cause.

I don't want to sound like a crazy person but I think it's possible that the judicuary has just a bit too much power.

Simple solution to that judge: Biden takes a page from Lincoln's book and orders the FDA to ignore the judge.

Because that's how you get United Jesus States of Christamerica.

Let's hope that it is still a long way from no national right to abortion to a national ban.

But with this SCOTUS, who knows?

GOP keeps claiming the impossible "imaginations" for their society to generate a more enthusiastic Fascist base.

No, single "judge" cannot mandate an opinion based in religious bias. Once America realizes the truth reactionary judges will be a thing of the past.

Yes, a temporary "ban" may happen, but under what call, banning the pill after many years of medical, and scientific, observations, for a "judge" to block it's use will be catastrophic to science and education.

/This judge should be able to show merit without a religious bias or just STFU, or be disbarred, tarred and feathered for subjugating his bias onto all.

the first r daughter that dies when the green m&m she thought was an abortion pill turns out to be fentanyl made back stage at drag queen story hour during the goat sacrifice act then they'll really regret it.  In fact, I'm in!  skip the overdose part though...I'm not an animal.

This entire "case" is a study in what would happen if conservatives had national supermajorities - law and jurisprudence based on what happens in their fevered imaginations.

A judge operating on established legal principles would've kiboshed this immediately.

At what point do we realize that the rule of law is a social construct that requires a vast majority of society to believe in it for it to be effective? If they're going to play Calvinball with the law, at what point do we ignore it entirely?

Here's what will really happen - he will ban the pill and the reasoning doesn't even matter. Work as a judge as long as he likes, until the day he dies if that's what he wants. Should he retire, it's time to collect the winnings by sitting on boards of right wing groups.

I'd been expecting a constant stream of articles covering daily incidents of women unnecessarily being killed/irreparably harmed because of Dobbs, with it inevitably resulting in a popular revolt against these laws, and... nothing.

What will happen is what's happening now with abortion.  Doctors will be afraid to prescribe the morning-after pill and pharmacists won't dispense it because they're afraid of lawsuits and afraid that their insurance won't cover them if they do prescribe or dispense it and something goes wrong.

Subby misleads. "The pill" is the established shorthand for the birth control pill. What the article refers to is the abortion pill, not the birth control pill.
