There is no excuse not to have done cocaine in the 1980's.

Wasn't there already a sequel to that movie?

And it was pre-Buffy Sarah Michelle Gellar's first movie role, if I remember correctly.

I wonder how JLH is holding up?

I remember wondering when the movie came out if it was biased on the book I used to see all the damn time at the Scholastic Book Fairs back in the late 70's early 80's

If you're the slightest bit honest you have to admit she's not a terrific actor.  Her career was mostly her body, and at some point, she let that go from 'hot' to 'normal'.  Not 'blimp' or anything like that, but you're not going to go to a movie to leer at her.

Good for her being OK with a normal physique, but with that plus 25 years and I don't understand why anyone would cast her just for being her any longer.

Technically Buffy began airing prior to the movie release

It surely can't be THAT hard to come up with a novel idea for a movie, can it?

Yep she was on that terrible 911 show (or still is) and while she looks good and has the mom bod her acting is...suspect at best.
should've kept connie britton on the show.

Everyone in those movies was interchangeable and unmemorable. Any random-20-year-old pretty ex-model with negligible acting skills was all that was required.

The 80's ended 33 years ago though. ...

Is that the one where Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair kiss? As was said, those post-Scream movies are pretty interchangeable.

Cocaine is expensive and I had better things to do with my lawnmowing money. Also, the 80s were more than 25 years ago.

She was good in "The Wonder Boys". Granted, so was everyone else, but she didn't stick out.

The original wasn't scary or funny. A solidly average movie.

It was made for teenagers. I saw it with friends in high school.

It was entertaining.
