I recommend that the Fire Department just park a few trucks in the parking lot there.  That place is getting burned down at the end of the game no matter the outcome.

The fact that there "aren't a lot of places she can go in her Chiefs gear" is farking pathetic.

You should be able to go to a stadium or bar to watch your team, in their merchandise and then be able to walk home surrounded by fans of the other team without being worried that some jackass who makes being a sports fan his entire personality decides to physically attack you for wearing your teams gear.

Can't exactly pick up your liquor license and sell booze at another location

How do you fark this up so bad?  Have a stack of tickets at the bar. Sell them in person. Put up a little sign for the regulars to see.

I've always been warned against wearing Philadelphia sports rivals gear when in town but I also don't wear sports gear so no biggie... but then again I've also never had anything but a good time in Philadelphia.

And the bar, which maybe holds 135 people, according to Sessa's best estimate

Why would the manager need to estimate this? Aren't the capacity limits established by the director and something the manager should know?

Dalessandro's was good.  Kind of a big greasy mess but delicious.  At the end of the day, it's just shaved beef on a roll with some whiz and onions.  The roll is really the only opportunity for distinction.  There's only so much you can do with the core ingredients without being branded an infidel.

We can't even interact nicely with opposing fans, because the poor darlings are terrified, unfortunately.  And so I took that personally...

I regularly see asshats wearing Cowboys jerseys in North Philly. They are alive and walking, and are usually residents.

Philly fans are rambunctious, but generally the worst you get for wearing opposing jerseys is heckled. I can't recall the last time an, "opposing fan got stabbed or shot" story was on Philly.

I agree with your premise that violence against other fans is stupid and shiatty. But you're falling victim to a tired trope.

Didn't mean to seem like I was dumping on Philly cheesesteaks in general. The places just seemed touristy and that's generally not really my thing.

I gave up. The man is hellbent on believing that one awful and newsworthy event from 2014 happens on the regular. I think youngandstupid already provided some great context on fans here.

If this person wants to believe that people are being randomly jumped in opposing teams' gear, just let them.

I'd tell him to ask all the Giants and 49ers fans visiting in recent weeks, but locals apparently killed them all.
