The thing that immediately disqualifies people like Christie, Pompeo, etc is that they are stupid enough to believe whichever advisor told them they have a path to the White House.

Joe is getting the job done. He always has. Yet, his poll numbers are tanking. The right wing noise machine has a firm grip on America. It's so farking farked up.

Thats amausing because all anybody was saying about Joe Biden in 2020 was "thank gawd, he's just old and boring compared to being a chaos monkey out of control"

2023-02-06 8:12:54 AM
I will say... I don't care for Biden politically, I think he should be doing a lot more re: debt forgiveness and marijuana legalization (at the minimum) but he's not boring.  He's a snappy talker and he's not afraid to take a shiat on someone who's playing a fool for political purposes.

2023-02-06 8:13:59 AM
Would it be wrong for Biden to respond by saying "I don't care what someone shaped like a weeble thinks"?

Probably, but I would laugh.

the old is certainly applicable, but I gotta take a stand against boring.  Biden is anything but boring.  He may be a bit of the goofy great great great great great...great Uncle, but he's anything but boring.  Dude makes eating ice cream a spectacle of pure bad assery for goodness sake...he's superceded the hyperbolic...that aint easy...

I went to China King to pick up my General Tso's last night, and they were all laughing at me about the balloon!  Laughing!  They're laughing at us!

Probably!  Laughing!

We need an exciting leader! Ya know, like someone who might go out for cheeseburgers or might bomb Iran! You just never know what they're going to do!

The Biden administration has been an overlooked success and I hope that continues.

Honestly, I'm surprised Christie's heart hasn't given out. He's three-plus bills and doesn't appear to exercise anything but his maw.

But if Joe and Kamala can win re-election, maybe they can continue their progress and remember to expand SCOTUS to 13 on their way out.

2023-02-06 8:32:55 AM
Biden is old. To be honest, it would have contributed to why I didn't vote for him in the primaries (my state's primary got delayed to the point of irrelevance, Biden was already unofficially the official nominee by August). Not the main reason - I mean, Liz Warren is old and I would have voted for her had she not dropped out before then. But yeah, old.

Boring? In what way? Like, predictable for having sane judgment?  Because yeah, I could see that. Obama was boring in that sort of way, I really liked that about him.

dogdaze: Joe is getting the job done. He always has. Yet, his poll numbers are tanking. The right wing noise machine has a firm grip on America. It's so farking farked up.

Not really.  The actual owners of the nation want things to get totally fu*ked up.  They want to sweep away the remnants of what was originally known as the 'American dream' and monetize every aspect of life.  To do that, they need to get rid of Democratic lawmakers, as they at least try to fix the sh*t that the Republicans break.

If they get their way, regular citizens won't actually own anything.  They hope to have another massive housing crash so that they can get those pesky homeowners out and buy up the houses and rent them for way more. Hell, you're even seeing this with newer vehicles, as certain features are slowly being monetized as well with subscription plans.

And as far as the media? They all want to be the voice of an authoritarian nation, along with many of them trying to pass off propaganda as 'news'.  There are very few media outlets that actually report the news, and way more than present opinion as news.

So that's a really good reason behind why Biden's numbers are taking.  The people running the show behind the scenes are making sure that they do, no matter how much actual good news there is, because good news doesn't move their actual plans forward.

Most Democrats don't want Biden to run again, and admitting that Chris Christie is right is a bitter pill for some people to swallow

Boring should be a campaign slogan. Interesting is war, economic suicide pacts, fascist leaders, oppression, MAGA, etc.

Boring is the system working. Remember the curse, may you live in interesting times.

Maybe, if the rest of us figure out the obvious and stop electing Republicans to Congress.

He's lost a lot of pep since he was VP, but then again when he was VP, we diligently fanficked him into a merry prankster doing wicked burnouts in a car he doesn't own, so...

Inre his politics, he's fat to the right of where I'd prefer, but then again, I'd vote for this guy:

DNRTFA, is he arguing that people didn't vote for Biden, that they voted against TFG, and that the only reason he won was because TFG was just that bad? Because if so, he's not wrong. That said, I'd certainly vote for Biden again over Trump. Vote for him over DeSantis, too. I don't think its a great time to start thinking about replacing Biden before his second term. He's already signaled that he's running again. We can worry about the next best thing when we aren't at risk of splitting the vote and letting Republicans walk away with it. Circle the wagons now, and when the battle is won, then start speculating who would be best next.

Whenever politicians call Biden "old", I immediately think of Cameron Mitchell's character in Supersonic Man.  You aren't that much younger, buddy, just 20 years.  Hell, some of the people flinging it are Biden's age and even older.

It's funny to hear people like you whining about Biden's bad poll numbers and claiming they're nothing more than a result of propaganda.

Americans don't trust Biden on the economy and say that they're worse off.

Inflation, consumer prices and economic outlook are real issues and voters are struggling.

"Joe is getting the job done" is a stupid sentiment

Not who we all thought it was, but the presidency isn't a farking ball game, movie or reaity show. "Boring" is good with politics at that level. We have all had way too much farking "excitement" for several lifetimes.
"Boring" also means they are working and getting shat done instead of farking off watching tv all day or throwing ketchup at the walls or threatening to nuke other countries.
Being able to listen to the news in the morning without "What did that farking orange man-child do NOW?" in my head is a Very Good Thingtm. Give me more of that.

I thought y'all wanted government out of your lives, and just doing the boring sh*t?

Biden isn't an exciting President, he's a working President. He came into a sh*tshow after your 'exciting' guy, and he rolled up his sleeves and got straight to work. For two years straight before sort of popping out of his office, and getting things sort of running in the right direction.

Exciting is NOT what we need in a President. We need someone who just goes in, takes care of business, and keeps the ship rolling. The very best leadership doesn't excite you, it just lets you do your job, and is best when you don't even notice it. Like going to work, and always having enough toilet paper or pens, or there being backups data on hand, or drinks in the mini-fridge. You have clear goals set, you don't have to do 'crunch time' and you go home on the weekend without wondering what fresh Hell you're going to face on Monday.

Exciting is not something you really want in a job. You want boring. You're a bouncer, you dream of a boring day. Where you drink coffee, chat up concert girls, and maybe you help someone find the bathroom, or call them a cab because they realize that they can't drive. An ideal day for a cop or a fireman is no one dies, comes close to death, or even close to being injured. Exciting is for kids who have zero idea about mortality. And if a politician tells you that they want exciting, that means that they want to make YOUR life difficult so that they can save you from a situation that they've created themselves.

No, we should aspire to a boring President. We NEED a guy who is working to keep things from getting too exciting.

Chris Christie says Biden is 'not capable of running a traditional American race'

That's rich coming from a guy clearly incapable of running at all.
