I always preferred OG Daffy being daffy instead of the self-absorbed heel going "It's DUCK season! Fire!" in Bugs cartoons.

Yup. That was Bob Clampett.

There were so many great cartoons from the early days, with nighttime settings in the grocery store / bookstore / whatever with the labels and covers coming to life. It was a great, entertaining Idea.

I was delighted to see Tiny Toons revive the idea by using that plot trope in a Video Store.

This still isn't the whole cartoon ("Book Revue" (1946)), but it's a longer clip than in the headline, and it's in good shape.

Nope.  Danny Kaye.  He came off of the book 'Danny Boy', to drive the point home.

Check out Danny in 'Court Jester' sometime.  Great musical comedy numbers and fantastic performances.

Such an amazing voice. Mel Blanc still has no equals from his prime years. Magical vocal cords on the man.

His doctor once commented that he had only seen vocal cords as developed as Mel's on *one* other person - Enrico Caruso.

Is that the vessel with the pessel/ flagon with a dragon one? Think I saw it on pbs as a kid. Just recall it being goofy Disney G rated funny for an 80s kid or 50s adult

I honestly did not know it was a Danny Kaye reference. I have seen this entire cartoon but not for decades. Not since TV decided to hack away at the Loony Toons and where and when broadcasted.

Had to look up a bit on Google for this one, but thought the clip, even without comments and as short as it was, was worth it.

Are you sure you didn't mean Enrico Palllazzo?

I'm pretty sure the account I saw mentioned Enrico Caruso, not Pallazo.  Of course, it could have been wrong...
