If someone wrote an article in print that quoted Biden as saying, "I love sucking adrenochrome from the veins of newborns," I would question the source and look for multiple sources of verification. The same exact thing applies for audio; it's no different.

No, you included that last paragraph for yourself and only yourself. It's an attempt to pre-empt the very existence of anyone who might not be as gullible as you are, because it would deflate your fragile self-esteem to imagine otherwise.

You are right the American electorate is made up of critical thinkers who question everything and will always question things that confirm their existing biases. I don't know how I could have ever thought that the ability to duplicate a voice and video could be used to manipulate such a discerning audience as exists on Facebook and tic tok.
