If you were opening a place where the entire point was to get high and drunk, why on Earth would you choose a strip mall in the suburbs for it!?

If I were a cop I would just sit at the exit of the parking lot and pull people over all day and night and rack up my monthly quota of DUI arrests in the first weekend of the month.

A place like this only makes sense in an area where people don't have to drive. Downtown would make a lot more sense.

No one should be "Chief Operating officer" of public schools.
You are using a corrupt self serving system to emulate in a system for the public good and paid for by the public.

The lawyers live in the suburbs.  You'd think that every cop within 25 miles of a country club would have a field day with alcoholic golfers.  They don't.  Because they're lawyers.

Real-estate costs are a part of it but I'm sure the politicians that had to be bought off are much cheaper in wheeling than the aldermen in Chicago are. Wheeling is also in both cook and lake counties, I didn't look but I'd bet this is on the lake co side of town

Did you not read the article entirely, or just stop reading before the line below?

'The owners hope someday to add a cannabis consumption area.'

Note to the owners: There is virtually no city in this country that will allow consumption of both weed and alcohol in the same business.

It's not, but the general effect is the same. Wheeling is offering ALOT of tax breaks for new businesses so this is a good call.

That and the Wheeling Police, like many suburban departments, quietly defunded itself at the same time that alot of its neighbors were going balls deep into Blueline McPunisher warrior cop mentality.

Society: why are all these bars closing? Why are people less social? Why are we losing money?
