And it wasn't a terrible trade for the Nets. I love it as a Celtics fan but getting all those picks should allow them to get something decent from a rebuilding team. And you got rid of a malcontent, albeit a talented one. They might be better off, but they are going to lose some games in the short term.

West looks fairly open, you're not quite there as is but have one of the best players in the league, maybe he can keep it together for 5 months and if not, he walks and there wasn't irreparable harm?

Both Luka and Kyrie are ball-dominant type of players. I don't think either one of them is going to run around through 3 picks without the ball, and then hope the other player feeds him the ball when open.

They are both very talented, but they are both basically scoring point-guards. I don't think this is going to work with the way they currently play. Luka would need to change his game to be more like a Larry Bird type of player, where he waits until the game comes to him. If you watch vintage footage of Bird, he played a lot without the ball, and many times once he had it, he fed it right away to McHale or Parish. Somehow at the end of the game, Bird still had 35 points. Luka will need to become a similar player IMHO.

And you just know the crazy from Kyrie will come out eventually, so there's that.

He completely f*cked the team. It's not like Boston is booing him because he's no longer on the team. It's very specifically because he came here, f*cked up the chemistry, tainted our players with dumb thoughts, lied about wanting to play here, skipped out on a Game 7 while injured even though he went to all the other games, went to Brooklyn, came back with some hokey smushing ceremony...it's a whole bunch of things.

Had Boston not been completely elated with the prospect of what he was going to do here, we wouldn't care that he was only here for a couple of years. But the hopes were high. Now everybody sees who he is.

Hell, if Gordon Hayward didn't snap his ankle in that first game who knows how that season would have gone?

Reminds me of Randy Moss when Brady got hurt in the first game of the 2008 season. He was fine, but you could tell he wasn't happy not having Brady throwing him the ball. I think he sort of lasted one more season after that before shooting his way out of town.

I think Kyrie had the same thought. They were supposed to be a good team, but when Hayward went down they had to rethink the lineup and everything changed.
