You cannot contract to commit a crime.   Well you CAN but the contract would be unenforceable.  Misprision of a Felony/accessory after the fact are crimes.  More broadly though, Contracts that are "against public policy"  are also unenforceable.   WHat exactly that means is a little squishy though.  A classic example used to be a contract with a Vegas casino to pay a gambling debt in states where gambling was illegal.  That  fell by the wayside when most states authorized the lottery because clearly they DO approve of gambling.

This too. If you work for Coca-Coca and leave and then tell Pepsi their secret formula, then that would be terrible for Coca-Cola. So, a NDA not to tell anyone the formula is understandable.

But, yes, they often go way too far and way too broad. Hence the discussion about illegal things a few comments above.

If those people who are free from their NDA end up revealing to the public the sordid goings-on with the 2016 Trump campaign, you can be sure it'll be damning enough to sink his 2024 campaign for sure. Trump is done for. I smell burnt toast.

The man has been goating the far right Fringe for the last 10 years he tried to actively overthrow the government he lied and tried to stand office after he was voted out he looks and acts like a mob boss yet no charges or brought against them. He is the Teflon Don even though he keeps on losing civil cases those don't matter where  are his criminal cases.


All of this could have been avoided if you would have demanded is that people got treated fairly and were paid fairly from the very beginning the middle class stood on top of the poor the poorest stood on top of the homeless all trying to be better than everybody else instead of looking up and saying hey that's not rain that's coming down that's piss.

General NDA views aside, this particular NDA was an impressive exercise in obnoxious and clearly unenforceable overreach. I kept a copy in my office for laughs.

I'm assuming NDAs related to technology researched and developed is protected.  Something protecting intellectual property.  Nothing about Trump relates to intellectual property or intellectual anything.
