OK, I understand twisting a headline just a bit to create a satirical, comical, or snarky effect. But the submitted headline has absolutely nothing, zero, to do with what's being described in the actual article. Congrats on the green, I guess, but really. Try a little harder next time.

I'm not sure what subby was reading, but it definitely wasn't that article.

"More conservative members of the House Education Committee equated the proposal to socialism and questioned whether these programs are the proper role of government."

And, this is why we can't have nice things.

Wow.
The actual man is almost a caricature of the farthest right you can get in the republican mindset:

"But as someone with a 100 percent rating from the American Conservative Union Foundation, Mendive is not a man constrained by reason. He has also declared that if you support abortion rights, that means you also support prostitution-as both are "a woman's choice." He contended that it is "a double standard" to say otherwise."

Further proof that many Republicans have absolutely no idea what socialism is and absolutely no idea what government is supposed to do to function properly for the benefit of society.

Why do Republicans want to expand government? Because...that is exactly what they are proposing by means testing and "earning" a free lunch.

I'm OK with EVERY student helping to take care of their schoolroom, Japan-style.  Rich kids can just as much use a lesson in hard work and social responsibility as much as poor kids.

I am completely fine with this.  And to show that the nation respects Idaho's rugged independence, the state should receive back exactly as much federal funding as it sends to DC, so as to not burden the state with dependency and welfare-queenism.

It's like that political debate with Lois Griffin where she would simply say "9/11" over and over, except it's "socialism".

I wrote a sketch where one of the candidates sang "9/11" over and over to the tune of "Rock Me, Amadeus".

Don't know how he gets a 100% rating, his name sounds foreign, it's Basque.

His own children wanted to attend Bible college in Europe, which Mendive supported.

Does he not realize they are Socialist over there in old Europe?

The bill i agree with. I always felt there should be programs for vocational work. Hell i feel that after 9th grade you should pick a career path in high school. You could go college path or pick say plumbing, and then when you leave high school youd have the equivalt journeyman plumber rank and could find a job doing that. High school as a college feeder is a bit dumb as college is not for everyone.

The comment of the random legislature is disgusting, this bill i support though.
