He's so addled he can't tell the difference between James Harrison and Vontaze Burfict.

I'm pretty sure that even the roughest padded practice wouldn't have had teammates laying each other out, especially the best receiver on the team taking shots from the best linebacker.

Is it time to remind everyone in the world that Antonio Brown was a huge piece of shiat in college too? None of this behavior is in anyway new. It wasn't caused by the Burfict hit, it wasn't caused by Harrison. He's always been a terrible person.

This.  The hit from Burfict probably didn't help, but he was a crazy asshole before he ever took a snap in the NFL.

He has, yes, but he managed to keep it under control until Burfict scrambled what was left of his brains. Either that or Tomlin is a much better head coach than anyone gives him credit for because he was able to keep him under control for that long. Remember, they re-signed him over Mike Wallace, which they likely wouldn't have done if he had been the cancer he later became.

James Harrison had an illegal helmet for over 20 years in the NFL

What does this even mean? James Harrison was only in the league for 15 and only on the Steelers for 3.
And what is an illegal helmet?

Steel plates where padding should be? Rivets on the exterior shell filed into points (that one was actually done in the Dark Ages when head slaps were a legal pass rush move)? Seems unlikely. There are some helmet models that became illegal recently for being insufficiently protective of their wearers, but I don't see how that would have conferred an advantage to Harrison. In any case, the improved helmet standards came in 2019, when Harrison was done.

Find the episode of the podcast Dumb People with Terrible Ideas on Antonio Brown. It's about 15 minutes long. This guy was a horrible human being well before he ever took a hit from Burfict or Harrison.

Top 500 worst human, all-time.

Yeah I don't know how often the helmet standards have changed in the past. I assume every now and then as technology improves. Wearing an "illegal" helmet was actually a problem AB had with the Raiders.

As much crap as people give the NFL they're pretty on top of all of that kind of stuff and I'm sure have minders at every team's facility checking. If they didn't, the Raiders probably would have just let him wear his stupid helmet, saved themselves all the drama and went about their business, but they couldn't because the NFL was watching.

to be fair - Harrison did play for the Bengals in 2013 and faced the Steelers twice. out of curiosity I looked at the stats for those games - Harrison was a non-factor the first game and had three tackles in the second but none involved Brown.

but yeah Brown was never the same after the Burfict hit. I still hope he gets help soon because he's going to die if he doesn't

CTE is, according to science, caused by repeated hard blows over a period of time.Like, say, years of a football career. There probably are confirmed reports of CTE in someone his age but I am not recalling them at the moment.

What's funny is that Brown threatened to sit out if he couldn't wear his helmet which had been disallowed by the league.

Junior Seau was in his 40s, following a NFL 20 year career. So doesn't quite fit. We're looking for people whose brains turned into Swiss cheese at a younger age even than that.

Oh, my brain is scrambled eggs after playing hockey; being a 5'8" defenseman and making it all the way to D-1 college hockey will do that.

I'm 39yo. My ex-girlfriend who is a mental health counselor is convinced that I have the mood swings and tendency to pour booze the way I do because of it.

Then again, she's a manipulative coont. I can't trust anything she says.

AB signs with the Buccs on a one-year deal

Before he signed with the Buccaneers AB was accused of destroying a surveillance camera at a Florida gated community, throwing bike at a security-guard shack, and is not charged because HOA president "feared" retaliation, per police report (which honestly feels like a safe bet given the rest of these things)

Removed Jersey, pads, shirt and gloves, and threw them in the stands before walking through the end zone during a running clock vs the Jets towards the end of third quarter and left the stadium

Released by the Bucs immediately after the game

Was not released by the Bucs immediately who tried to work out his issue

Released text messages, that may or may not have been faked, between himself and Bruce Arians
Also released text messages between himself and Alex Guerrero that had his bank account information in them
Released by the Bucs later that day

UNC_Samurai: Kicked out of Florida International University after fighting a security guard

"Don't touch me. I'm the franchise"

His second year in the league he took a personal stretch limo to a charity event, had them open every single expensive bottle of wine, rejected it. Refused to pay for it (charity, remember), then left.

Threw fits over not getting enough targets

Drove 100 down McKnight Road in Pittsburgh, which has a 45 MPH speed limit

Trashed a condo and threw furniture out a window 14th floor window, which almost hit some people, notably a child

Killed a home aquarium full of piranhas and refused to pay the man who installed the tank

Refused to play week 17 for the Steelers

Dyed his mustache blonde

Refused to pay a chef because he thought he threatened him by placing a fish head in the freezer (the fish head was saved to make a soup)

Farted on a doctor

Demanded a trade from the Steelers

Became "Mr. Big Chest"

Threw a fit over Juju winning team MVP and trashed him on social media

(Allegedly) nixed a trade that would've sent him to the Bills

Showed up to Raiders training camp in a hot air balloon

Held out and refused to show up to training camp because the NFL would not approve his helmet because it was too old for their safety standards

Froze his feet

Tried to paint over his old helmet, hoping no one would notice I guess

Acquired a newer version of the same model of helmet, which the NFL refused to let him use

Picked out a new helmet and finally showed up to the Raiders

Got fined by the Raiders for not attending camp

Tweeted the fines

Tried to fight Mike Mayock, called him a cracker, had to be held back by Vontaze Burfict, then punted a football down the practice field and said "fine me for that"

Got fined for that

Released a video where he used audio of Jon Gruden, who didn't know he was being recorded, which is illegal in California (full disclosure, Gruden has said he gave permission, but the generally accepted theory is that he said that in the hope that it would help get him to show up to the facility and not alienate him)

Demanded a release from the Raiders

Was released

"GRANDMA I'M FREEEEEE! FLY LIKE A FREEEEE!"

Made a lot of crazy tweets saying stuff like 'Devil is a lie', a proverb about burning down a village... he made a lot of crazy tweets around this time is the point here

Liked a tweet about Mayock getting raped in the ass

Signed with the Patriots

Moved in with Tom Brady

The sexual assault allegations came out (the one where he's getting sued)

The sexual harassment allegations came out (the one where he's not getting sued)

Threatened the woman not suing him in a group text that included his lawyer and had a picture of her kids in the text

Got released by the Patriots after one week

Went off on a tweet storm and said a lot of crazy shiat about a lot of people, and was supportive of people

sending threats to the writer of the article detailing the sexual harassment allegations

Said he was done with the NFL

Went back to college via online classes

Tried to outsource his homework to Twitter

Wants to come back to the NFL

Filed several grievances to try and get more than $40 million from the Raider's and Patriots

Was ordered to show up for a deposition regarding trashing the condo

Was accused of "reprehensible behavior" during the deposition, which included, but was not limited too:
"[C]hanted, over and over, as if a mantra, a narrative of his own warped concept of the proceeding".
"Acting as if he was above the rule of law, [Brown] proceeded to make a mockery of the deposition process.
[Brown's] antics were so unreasonable that barely twenty [20] minutes into the deposition, his counsel asked for a break [so] he could speak with [Brown] about his demeanor.
"After approximately 20-30 minutes, [Brown] required another break. When the deposition resumed [Brown] increased his level of obstructive behavior. At one point, [Brown] refused to answer any questions, instead saying "next question" no less than 10 times."

Said that the Patriots have to pay him anyway, so they might as well let him play

Tweeted a couple of bizarre tweets about the Raiders using him for HBO ratings and the Patriots trying to steal
his stuff and kept using this weird chicken based metaphor

Tried out for the Saints and brought an entourage and film crew to shoot a music video with him when specifically told not to do that

Called out Robert Kraft for his rub and tug massage session in Florida

Starting training for a boxing match with Logan Paul

Tweeted "No more white woman 2020"

The attorney representing him in the suit involving the condo quit

Used a bunch of slurs and profane language towards cops in an Instagram video he posted

A police youth football league cut ties with him and returned a donation after the release of the video saying there was a "irreparable rift" between the department and AB

Threw a bag of gummy candy dicks at the cops in a video he posted

Got dropped by his agent

Was involved in a disputed with movers at his home where he allegedly threw rocks at the movers and moving vans. He is currently being investigated for battery by the police.

His trainer was arrested and he is still a suspect in the battery case.

Warrant issued for the arrest of AB.

AB turns himself in to Broward Country Jail wearing this suit

Rumors spread about AB signing with Tampa or Seattle

AB announces his retirement (for what I believe is the third time, it's hard to find a good record of the rest of them)

Two days later AB wants to play again and is asking for the league to wrap up it's investigation

The NFL announces an eight game suspension for AB

AB signs with the Buccs on a one-year deal

Before he signed with the Buccaneers AB was accused of destroying a surveillance camera at a Florida gated community, throwing bike at a security-guard shack, and is not charged because HOA president "feared" retaliation, per police report (which honestly feels like a safe bet given the rest of these things)

AB wins a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers, and catches a touchdown in Super Bowl LV

AB's former live-in chef alleges that he obtained a fake COVID-19 vaccination card to avoid NFL protocols

Confirmed to have acquired a fake covid-19 card and subsequently suspended for three games

Removed Jersey, pads, shirt and gloves, and threw them in the stands before walking through the end zone during a running clock vs the Jets towards the end of third quarter and left the stadium

Released by the Bucs immediately after the game

Was not released by the Bucs immediately who tried to work out his issue

UNC_Samurai: Kicked out of Florida International University after fighting a security guard

I was going to correct you and say he got kicked out of Florida State. But, no, you're correct. I knew, however, that he had something to do with Florida State and turns out he was denied admission for poor grades in high school. Which begs the question: how stupid does one have to be to be denied admission to Free Shoes University as a football player?

Stealing king crab legs is considered good math. You aren't going over your budget, if you don't pay for them...

Um, Chris Henry, Aaron Hernandez. I remember there was a college player who offed himself and was found to have signs of CTE at autopsy a few years ago, but the name is escaping me. Remember, there have been some idiot coaches who ran the Oklahoma drill in Pop Warner.

Junior Seau maybe

Junior Seau was in his 40s, following a NFL 20 year career. So doesn't quite fit. We're looking for people whose brains turned into Swiss cheese at a younger age even than that.

Oh, my brain is scrambled eggs after playing hockey; being a 5'8" defenseman and making it all the way to D-1 college hockey will do that.

I'm 39yo. My ex-girlfriend who is a mental health counselor is convinced that I have the mood swings and tendency to pour booze the way I do because of it.

Then again, she's a manipulative coont. I can't trust anything she says.

Well, that's one red flag right there. They're professional manipulators. And then there's the pattern I've noticed, where people who take up that line of work seem to have issues of their own, which perhaps  could have been what originally sparked their interest in the field. Anyway, you're probably well rid of her. Still, that mood instability could be something. I guess those around you may have a clearer picture if you start finding yourself lost when you step off your porch at 65, and maybe by then they'll have a conclusive test that doesn't involve opening up your skull.

The determination of CTE is still autopsy only, correct? That surprises me, what with the current level of sophistication for MRI and CT scanning. I just had a CT scan, and the amount of stuff they could see was nothing short of amazing.

bluorangefyre: jake3988: HideAndGoFarkYourself: Is it time to remind everyone in the world that Antonio Brown was a huge piece of shiat in college too? None of this behavior is in anyway new. It wasn't caused by the Burfict hit, it wasn't caused by Harrison. He's always been a terrible person.

Yes.  He was, is and presumably forever will be an asshole.

Yes, but he kept it confined to his training camp arrival.  The Burfict hit broke him.

No it didn't. Teammates and coaches have been talking about his behavior since college. The Burfict hit is an excuse used by people with an agenda to create an asshole out of a choir boy. He's been an asshole and shiatty human for a long time.

For  airtight diagnosis, they still have to cut thin sections of brain tissue and look at them with a microscope.

I have some stuff going on, too. How much is related to the high rate of personality disorders, autism, and ADHD found in my farked up family, how much is about people being more careless with lead when I was a child, how much is my collection of head shots and K.O.s,, how much is just me in the early stages of codgerhood, rather difficult to say at this stage. Hopefully if I start really heading downhill and picking up speed, I'll have just enough of my wits left to head for the exit at an appropriate time, instead of having people I can no longer recognize dress and feed me.

Thanks for that.

Yeah, I know. I played football wee in the southeast in the late 70's early 80's.
