Stolen sometime in 2021???  They're 'cold' wheels now. Maybe the next big Netflix doc.

That's someone's labor of love, probably took years to amass that collection.  Total dick move.  $35,000 at $7 a pop.

That said, I'd like to hear the wife's alibi and see if she already redecorated that room.

Maybe not a labor of love. Maybe just someone buying cases and stacking the boxes in the basement. If the cars really were on display only a real Hot Wheels fan wouldn't go mad or die from boredom trying to pack up 5000 of the things.

I had a friend who was having  a kid. I suggested I could pick up a huge amount of hot wheels and track in free piles at yard sales because I always see them antiquing. I said that by the time he was old enough to play with them, he could have a big box full. Just wash them and out them in storage until he grows a bit.

No way, he said.
The orange hot wheels tracks only got used for one thing in our house growing up. And that was for beating kid's asses.
Not in my house.

I eventually got the kid an old school game boy with a ton of cartridges for 59 cents. Told him to hide it I, his room for when he got punished and sent there.

Punishment was no Wi-Fi.
At 5.

How cruel

5000 matchbox cards and stolen in 2021?  Given how lack the article is in relevant data my best guess is looted from a storage unit.   The value could be much higher than $35k though depending if any are especially rare and or sought after.
