I've flown southwest once. Most of the time my flights were united or American.

And when United looses your shiat... they really lose your shiat. When you mention they lost 10k+ in tools and you can't do your job that you flew to do... they get really frantic finding your shiat though.

How I'm not on the TSA shiatlist I have no idea.

For anyone who doesn't want to dig through the article - SW is giving points to anyone who can get a company to send business their way.

So... Bribing people in a way that doesn't really cost SW anything.

Many companies have referral reward programs.  What's the big deal.  Just using this as an excuse to pile on Southwest, not that they don't deserve it.

Why are you cursing? First off, you edited out the part of OP's statement where they indicated Southwest deserves to be ridiculed.

Second, what specifically about this referral program is deserving of rage on the part of the consumer? It's a chuckle or eyeroll at best.

How can you say "I didn't fly Southwest over the holidays" without saying "I didn't fly Southwest over the holidays"?  If those pricks dropped you into some airport and left you there for days, lost your luggage forever, made you miss holiday celebrations with people you see once or twice each year, and then made you miss work at the end of it all, and (how could I forget?) played airline hardball about paying you money as a refund.........you just might be pissed about it for a long, long time.  Fark those guys.

Wait, what?  20 years ago Southwest was fine.  The "5 hops to cross the country" got old, but for shorter distances it was fine.  I remember flying non-stop Baltimore to Jacksonville was both good and inexpensive, and that wasn't much long after 2001.

Once they replaced the CEO with a beancounter, all bets were off.

Curious if chatbotGPT can be instructed to delay the payout well past multiple adbreaks.  The writers will be out of a job (that is probably only paid with "exposure", much like our favorite advice collumn letters), but don't expect the writing to improve (although I'd expect the spelling and grammar to be better).  Maybe eventually the writing will be good enough to justify reading past multiple ads.

Nobody flew Southwest over the holidays.  The stopped two days (at least) before Christmas and didn't go back online until well after New Year.  How you managed to get snagged between flights is impressive.

I was lucky enough to not fly American Airlines.  I haven't been flying much since early 2000s, so would have picked Southwest had it been an option.  Instead, AA was stymied by snow.  I got to drive from Rochester NY (the nasty winter had just started), to Syracuse.  Then wait a few hours for AA to cancel my flight (the year before they waited until midnight).  Go back to the car and start driving to my parent's place.

Oh, and laughs at you for booking Southwest (even in my ignorance).

OK, you can't just leave that hanging there. Did they find the tools, or what?
