I've read several (conflicting) stories why he was there but the most popular was he came to THAT studio by mistake (maybe something to do with looking for his managers office or something?) but they said "Well, Blues Brothers WAS a music act" so they let him stay.

I get the desire to want to be there, but I'd feel like a douche staying with all those musicians

johnny queso: ray charles, awesome


I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 5-6 months after Ray Charles died and they had a nice display dedicated to him. In a glass case there were a couple of Playboy magazines in Braille. Ray requested that, and to tell the truth back in the day everyone read Playboy because they had phenomenal writers. Hunter S. Thomson wrote for them regularly, for instance.
It was pretty cool, better than I expected the place to be.

I had to feel something clear and unsullied  after watching that, so I reread Theodor Adorno's "On Popular Music" and image-searched "Kevin Carter photographer," because we are indeed the world, and today I decided I should feel bad about that. Maybe you should, too.

That didn't provide nearly enough of a funk, so I rewatched some live Danny Gatton & Roy Buchanan videos. Couldn't get a witness, neither they nor I. Too sad. Made lunch.
