The thing about a phrase like "almost inevitable" is that, on a first listen, one might interpret it to mean that we have almost reached an inevitable result. As in, we're merely inches away from the final ending that can no longer be put off or altered.

But that's not even remotely what it actually means. The almost is modifying the word "inevitable" itself. It's the same thing as telling someone they "almost passed" a test. That means, and can only mean, that they did not pass. "Almost inevitable" means, and can only mean, that while a result came very close to being inevitable, in the end it was not.

So, thanks, Raskin.

I'd rather focus on the idea that it's almost inevitable that there will be charges, because the evidence is just so overwhelming.

We know!  Now get on with the indictments!!

No point in these articles until an indictment. Trump has been finished, ruined, on the verge of charges for what seems like decades.

Not saying it is a bad thing to keep rubbing his stupid vagina necked, butt mouthed face in it because you know he sees it all and pisses him off.

Maybe it will increase the chances of him finally stroking out.

Jamie Raskin is desperately trying to cling to  his spotlight. First the subcommittee on civil rights was dissolved where he claimed they did important work on the war on drugs and marijuana, now his work on the Trump committee where he's saying that it will all result in arrest.

And, I get it. Trump has been a ratings juggernaut for 6 years. Sometimes you get stuck singing Rebecca Black's Friday years after it has become cool or ironic to do so, simply out of habit. But, really, it would have been so much better if Jamie Raskin had fought for rail unions, for health care, for pot legalization, for ending the war on drugs, or for a reduction in the police state as hard as he is fighting for relevance.

It seems like Trump has been going to face consequences for his actions any day now for a few years.

2023-02-04 10:32:21 AM
Now, if he were to somehow escape the grasp of the criminal justice system here, this would be a painful thing for the country and for millions and millions of people who have held on to the idea that we have one system of justice.

And those of us who know there are at least two systems of justice? Our faces will be locked in a rictus of not-surprise.

Weird how you can apply that to Trump rehashing the same bs at rallies and during interviews with a sprinkling of projection about some new crime he has been accused of.

Dude needs to play some new hits. His old stuff is boring.

25 months after an internationally televised attempt to murder congress via an angry mob Trump has been left free to roam the country pandering for more money and campaigning for 2024 so he can do it all again.

Meanwhile Bolivia put the person responsible for their attempted coup in prison, and Bolsanaro is terrified of going home because he knows as soon as his plane lands his ass is going to be arrested and thrown into a dark hole forever.

"We have to believe that the justice system is going to work" sounds like something someone who has never had to deal with our justice system on a daily basis might say.

I believe that it works as intended, smash poor people and minorities while protecting the rich and powerful.

Few things are weirder to me than a bunch of folks "owning" each other online about what will or won't happen in the future...

....except maybe those same folks justifying it as some kind of sage wisdom about corruption in America.

That is why religion is so important to conservatives.
It teaches you to have unquestionable faith in the unbelievable.

Unless you want this BS to continue, yeah arrest him for at least ONE of his daily crimes and do not give him bail, as a clear and present danger to the USA.  Because he is.  Every day he is out there inciting sedition and insurrection even now.  This is not a test.  China is not your biggest threat, nor is Russia, except for the fact that TFG is their sock puppet of course.  But let's start with the source of the fire first.

Either way...no matter what happens,
it shows how PATHETIC the American justice system is.
