Stop in at the arbys in Huntington PA.
They are so stoned, they will fark up your order every time.
I wanted a chicken wrap once but they were "out of chicken. No. Wait, maaan. We got it, but only if it is fried. We don't have the grilled wrap chicken. It's still frozen."

Well, thank you ever so much for sharing your secret recipe with me, and as a long time food-service-industry worker and manager, might I share one of my secret recipes with you?

"Uh...... I mean.... Ok, maaan."

You have a big kitchen back there right?

"Uhh...."

And I would wager, that means bet, kid. Wager means bet. I would wager you could rustle up a nice big knife in that kitchen if you really looked for one, right?

" uh.. Yeah?"

Ok, so here's what you do.
Fry up some of that boneless chicken breast that you have all breaded in the box, and take it, and slice it with the knife into strips, and put that in the wrap, and wrap that wrap, and put it in the bag, and hand it to me with a jomoca shake on the side, a large one.

"You want me to put a hot, sliced, breaded, fried, chicken patty in your wrap?"

That's the secret recipe, kid. And if I like it I'll go back to corporate, and tell them you invented it, and didn't forget to pull the 'grilled' chicken out if the freezer for the dinner rush. What did you call it? A hot, sliced, breaded, fried, chicken patty in your wrap? That sounds like we could use it in a commercial. Gwan, git to it!

And to the slack jaw standing there still, And the large jomoca shake!

Skacky leaves the counter.

Best dang wrap they ever made.

And if you are in Huntington, don't Stop at Wendy's. And iif you do, don't call the police. They aren't all tied up in the freezer. That isn't why they don't answer at the drive through. They are just in the dumpster stockade, smoking da reefer.

You know what? Just go to the Stone Town Tavern in that town.
Real good food, and the pho is to die for.

See they say white castle is the most hated in Ohio. And a lot of us from there can agree.

What they don't say at 2 am stoned and or drunk nothing hits like their sliders.

I used to go to BK for all my fast-food meals, and the Whopper is the my favorite of the fast-food burgers.  The changes they've made over the last couple of years has ruined that.  Whatever processes they have result in almost 100% of my orders being wrong: missing fries, missing cheese, fries instead of onion rings, etc..  Also, they've raised their prices to ludicrous levels.  A whopper is almost $7.  Not the meal, just the sandwich (no cheese even).  Making it a meal ramps the cost up to $12!  Five dollars for a medium coke and fries.

BK has gotten crazy expensive around me. They used to have decent deals on the app that made it a value but those are mostly gone. I mean $2 off a these days $12 combo isn't very appealing to me. They sometimes have BOGO whoppers or free fries deals on the app but I don't like their fries.  Add to that the franchises are very inconsistent about what that particular BK has or doesn't have on the menu. French toast sticks/mozzarella sticks/jalapeno poppers/slushies etc. "sorry we don't have those anymore" but it's on your damn menu board still and you haven't "had those anymore" for over a year.  I haven't been to BK in nearly a year.

Somewhere between 5-10 years ago I noticed that same thing. Ice cold buns, mountain sized chunks of lettuce, everything just went downhill. They are also the same price around here as if I go to a regular lunch restaurant and get a handmade meal.

When BK first showed up in the early 1970's in  Hyannis, MA, they were the KING! Conveyor-belt grill, ice-milk shakes and tallow-fried shoestring potatoes  I could order a Double Cheeseburger w/ extra pickles and mustard to guarantee a hot off the grill unit well into the late 80's.
The burgers are pre-cooked, shakes are some gloppy mess and the fries suck. I last went to the Dennis, MA place during lock-down (Dun-dun-duuun) and got a Whopper that had been nuked, cold fries and a Coke.

Go back to your roots BK and make it right.

I rolled through drive thru with 16 nuggets and a large fries for $3 ordering through their app. It depends on what you order. The deals are better through BK than Wendys or McDs.

This is a stupid way to perform research like this. Twitter is for complaining about things and all of this is going to be amplified by all the morons on there. People may have been fine with the meal otherwise but posted just to make a post that maybe someone will smash that stupid like button if they say something inflammatory.

The BK near me has gotten cheap with giving out dipping sauces, only giving one per order, regardless of size. I ordered a large onion rings and asked for two zesty sauces, was told they only came with one and I'd have to pay 25 cents for another. I made them run my card for it. Now they're doing the same with chicken nuggets, you used to get 2 per order, now it's just one. The dumbest part of this is they give you a fistful of ketchup packets with every order whether you ask for it or not.

I'm obsessed with the current limited-time Mexican chicken sandwich. I tried it as a goof because some article here on Fark was making fun of it and lo and behold it's THE BOMB. The wife agrees with me so not completely all in my head.

This. It comes down to the local management, even for one location. There was a Popeye's we used to frequent years ago, and going in for lunch versus dinner was like day and night (so to speak). The daytime manager was gone most of the time and he appeared to be stoned out of his gourd if he was there, which of course was reflected in the staff and general attitude. The evening manager was the opposite; he was out there on the front lines, usually taking jobs like cleaning tables or the restroom, taking out the trash, etc. That was smart; it showed his team that he was willing work as hard as they did, and it gave him a chance to see the end results of the overall operation. As a result, the place was always clean and, even though it was busier, the orders were correct, the wait time was less and the food was hot.

Oh, don't get me started on the local Popeyes.

Grew up in Slidell, LA and have been going to Popeyes since the 70's when their chicken was sold as "regular" and "mild".  Love me some Popeyes for lunch but they have the most consistently crappy service of anyplace I go.

It gets better. Everything in the article is sourced from three news articles and a Reddit thread. One of those articles was the one sourced from Twitter. Everything in there is recycled.

Me, I want to see the day when news articles are based entirely upon Fark threads. They can finally reveal that a study has shown that your dog wants steak.

1) It's weird that the article says Burger King is the most hated but then spends most of its time talking about McDonalds.

2) Oregon hates Taco Bell more than Burger King. The Burger Kings I've been to here have been pretty abysmal (and at least two of them have closed in the past few years), but the Taco Bells are definitely worse. How can you take this long to make an order and still get so many things wrong? And do you ever have anything in stock?

Both of them are prices that are absolutely outrageous right now. Why even go when I can go to a local place? I can get a burrito and a Mexican Coke at the birrieria nearby for like $11.

I'm convinced that the BK 1/2 mile from my house must be a front for some illegal business. It's run so crappy so there's never any cars in the parking lot except for the couple of staff, and has been like this for several years now. They're definitely not turning a profit, but are somehow still open, so it makes you wonder. Money laundering front, perhaps?

I mean.  What does "hated fast food" even mean?  Complaining about fast food is an extremely popular hobby.

I love BK, but it's the BK from the 90s that I love.  I keep meaning to go there but I just don't think I could take the heartbreak of it not being worth a damn anymore.

It used to be, at least earlier in MY life.

That changed.  Their quality control went to shiate in the early 2000s and never recovered.

Not that McD is great anymore either.  Literally the only great stuff are the fries RIGHT out of the fryer, and the Quarter Pounder, when they actually do it fresh and you eat it fairly soon after.

Conversely, Taco Bell has actually gotten much better.  I remember the early 2000s version of it consistantly being super sketchy (and giving me food poisoning more than any other place I've ever eaten at).  It's simplistic unambitious food all with the same 7 ingredients, but consistent now (although they mess up stuff like customizations and portions a lot).

KFC is shiate now too.

Someone upthread kinda nailed it. Service and food quality at fast food outlets can vary substantially depending on location. OTOH, I've given up on BK. For at least 5 years, my cheeseburgers arrived with a slice of cold cheese on the burger. MrsGriffin likes their sausage biscuits and the Whopper Jr but I just order it for her and go somewhere else for me. I used to like Culver's (well, I still do) but the staff at the only one close to me (University Ave in St Paul) are so farkin' incompetent, surly, that it's not worth it. As a result, I maybe eat 5 burgers a year at fast food places, and usually only the double cheeseburger at Mickey D's. I miss fast food burgers but the only ones that are, IMO, reliable are White Castles. I understand most people think WC is utter crap. But I developed a taste for them when I used to host a midnight to 2 am radio show and that was all that was open on my way home.

Throughout the 80s and 90s my favorite go to burger place was BK. I usually scored one or two whoppers and hit the cineplex for a couple of movies. By the early 90s, most of the old style multi screen places were dying in downtown mtl so it was easy to hop screens till you ran out of things you wanted to watch.

If I am correct, Taco Bell caught some flak for the quantity of actual beef in their "beef".  Apparently, they were mixing in things to make it stretch further to the point it could not be referred to as beef.  (like 35% or something)

The Pittsburgh area is a bit weird for fast food, only the big chains. Nearby I only had the option of Arbys, BK, McDonalds and Wendys. So I would get BK occasionally just for variety. The local BK got progressively worse over the three years I've been here. First year was fine, rare screwups. Starting the second year their service went into the toilet. I twice the website let me place an order when the restaurant was closed, and it wasn't outside their operating hours, they were just randomly closed on a weekday afternoon.

Apparently the store got so bad it closed up on two occasions last year, with the second time appearing to be permanently as they took down all the BK signs and branding from the store. So they managed to have a fast food restaurant go out of business in a town of ten thousand with only three direct competitors. I'm really hoping something decent takes over the location.
