I predict a brief stoppage in the 26th minute when Sean Dyche, in a fit of rage at the way his fullbacks are performing, rips Arteta's arm off and uses it to slap the shiat out of Tarkowski.

Would not be shocked

Morning all. I thoroughly expect a thorough chastening for Everton. No new manager bounce.

Good thing they are playing the Z Cars music, because Everton performances lately have been criminal.

Honestly, on paper this is all one-way traffic for Arsenal, but I would not be shocked at all to see Everton play tight and tough. I've been thinking all season that they're better than their results, and they do have a lot of tools at their disposal that will get them results if used correctly.

Also, I apologize in advance for expecting an Arsenal win, given my track record in predictions.

I did not even know Sean Dyche was managing the Toffees.

I don't know anybody expecting a win today for Everton, so...

I only found out yesterday myself.

Bonus prediction: Everton players will get carried away with the adrenalin boost of a new manager, and one of them will commit two "overenthusiastic" tackles and get red carded.

This has the hallmark of the kind of game where it takes the better side 60 minutes to wear down the defense and get a breakthrough.

From the bbc;

"A plane flies over pulling a banner that I'm pretty sure said "The league's worst run club". They don't mean Arsenal. "

Maybe not, but they might have bought it used from Arsenal supporters that were flying it 5 years ago.

So +6' at the end of the 1st 45?

2023-02-04 7:49:00 AM
I actually managed to get all my preds for this gameweek in before any of the matches started for a change... and that Chelsea-Fulham match was a snoozefest of fail that should have gotten Potter fired.

That sounds about right, as someone will engage in some time-wasting faked injury while trying to draw a card, or engage in some handbag action.

That was waaaay too close

Everton actually look threatening on these corners.

I got bonus points on the Chelsea game for predicting the draw, though I'd gone for 1-1

Hello all.
Switched on late. Been at the new house tidying before the next bunch of workmen make another mess

And the refs

Attwell's 6 card haul last night will push him up the table a bit.
Taylor seems to have the weekend off so Tierney should really pull his finger out at Wolves if he wants to stay in the race.

I went for 2-2 over 1-1 because it was potentially an extra 2 points for <5% and my goal difference is already the wurst

Despite all the possession time for Arsenal, Everton have managed to keep up the pressure on Arsenal, so it looks like Dyche actually did get Everton to wake up and start playing better... for now.

Maupay starting crap, situation normal.
And you noticed that no teammates ran in to support him.

I don't recall Arsenal threatening the goal much, either?

This is going to give the Everton side a huge boost of confidence. Today's game might mark the spot where they turn their season around and get out of the drop zone

All the sports on here this morning, and I'm not likely to enjoy any of them, trying to clean the house for company tonight.  URC is on, Six Nations is on, I still have the NHL All Star Skills competition recorded, and Fubo is replaying all the ways Chelsea didn't score against Full of Ham in the lead up to Liverpool.

2023-02-04 9:36:43 AM
And Everton join Leicester,Leeds and West Ham on 18 points with all those teams playing away this week. Of the 3 teams now below Everton 2 also play away and Wolves are home to LFC so this may turn out to be a very good start for Dyche
