In the ad, DeSantis can be seen sitting in an armchair reading Trump's book, "The Art of the Deal," to one of his children.
"Then, Mr. Trump said, 'You're fired!' I love that part," DeSantis says in the clip as the words "pitbull Trump defender" flash on the screen.

Oh, sure. THAT book is okay for kids. "The Fire Next Time," not so much...

Trump's full of shiat and it's easy to believe DeSantis was incredibly desperate for his endorsement because he knew he couldn't have a career without it so he might have cried if he felt Trump was holding out on him. It even explains Trump trying to label him "Desanctimonius", a nickname which was never going to take because Trumpers can't handle five syllable words, especially when you've just added a sixth syllable.

What I'm still struggling with is "RINO Globalist" being the new nickname. De Santis is one of the scummiest most psycho Republicans out there, every idea he has seems constitutionally dubious and is clearly just hateful. He's a Republican through and through, nobody thinks otherwise. And Globalist? Isn't that MAGAt code for Jewish? Isn't Trump just reminding his fascist followers that he's got a Jewish daughter and grandkids with that one, one of only two things they hate about him (vaccines being the other)?

Far be it from me to suggest hateful nicknames MAGAt's might like to call DeSantis, I've got a couple of ideas but they'd both get me banned from Fark, but Trump can't do this stuff like he used to, that much is clear.

It's just a way to paint DeSantis as part of the  pre-Trump Republican establishment. Doing so would be the best tactic Trump has to beat DeSantis, since the maggots hate the establishment.

You're confusion stems from thinking that words need to have meanings to Republicans.

Beyond being a down-low slur against Jewish folks, "globalist" invokes the image of a interational, rules based order - it invokes NAFTA, TPP, etc - which is the legacy of Clinton and Bush the Elder.

Rules are meant to broken as a political statement in MAGAland.

It's pretty obvious the military weapons testing site that borders Jordan, Syria, Egypt and Lebanon is only masquerading as a country.

And on Wednesday, Trump debuted a new label for DeSantis on Truth Social: "RINO Globalist" - a thinly veiled accusation that DeSantis is part of a global network of powerful, evil Jewishpeople.

Yep. They don't know the definitions of most words they attempt to use, they only know the feeling evoked. That's why when someone says "Family Patriot Freedom Eagle" they pee themselves from excitement, and "Socialist Communist Marxist" makes them pee themselves in anger. Either way, it's all piss and id-based.

Came here to say when that when that commercial exists, none of us has won. And it not only exists, it was part of a winning effort in one of our most populous states, an effort that has only gained in popularity since.

Ah yes, flashback to a Fark thread where some MAGAt was accusing teachers of being "liberal Marxists" and I pondered that liberalism and Marxism are pretty well opposite each other in the circle that is the "political spectrum". A magnificent Farker helpfully noted that by definition, liberal Marxists were not only the worst kind of liberals but also the worst kind of Marxists and that explained to me exactly the phenomenon you're describing.

The smart thing for DeSantis to do would be to announce that he will be filing a defamation lawsuit, maybe in two weeks. That way the MAGA base will see that he's "just like Trump".

I believe DeSantis cried, he's got that "emotional time bomb hidden behind spray tan & bourbon" aesthetic that Boehner exemplified so well.

Or Trump could just be a stupid lying little boy, like usual. Not that it matters to Republican voters, they're gonna vote R no matter which asshole it is.

They think in pack dynamics. This is "Alpha/Beta tit-for-tat" bullshiat. I don't relish any of it. All this is doing is establishing whether the dominant Republican will be Trump or DeSantis. There's no "win" here. I mourn this.

Not that it needs saying, but if your whataboutism requires a comparison between someone who is more statistically vulnerable to physical harm receiving death threats, even of an inlmplied and animated nature, and the sycophantic performance of the thinnest skinned bully since the one he's allegedly attemping to persuade?

Not a good look.

True story, well documented by videos and scholars who interview corporate staff:

In the USA, since around the year 2000, one of the most effective ways to stop retail workers from unionizing has been this:

The CEO of the corporation (The GAP, Foot Locker, Wal*Mart, whatever), goes to the location where the workers are talking about a union.

The CEO starts to give a speech, then begins to cry. Actual blubbering. Tears on cheecks. The CEO, while crying, talks about how it is a family business that they worked on for decades (which is almost always false).

It works.

It's the rugged American male's most effective way to stop the most effective opposition.

If you think this article is unusual, of crying American corporate leaders is unusual, you are living in a socioeconomic bubble far from the reality of what those men do, in order to get what they want from the vast majority of American workers.
