I wonder if they're looking into what he was doing instead of patrolling.

Clarence Brown: I wonder if they're looking into what he was doing instead of patrolling.

Hopefully, he just got disgusted with trolling for dollars and was going through the motions just to keep his boss happy until he could retire.

There simply have to be some cops that can't abide with the new thug level of policing.

Yeah but 34 is half way to retirement for cops.

Nysp are already the best paid pigs in the ENTIRE country, I will admit that they usually keep the Bullshiat to a minimum, but damn, makes you wonder what others are getting away with without so many eyes on em

Average nysp salary is north of 110,000 a year, and because so many local police departments exist in New York state, they are also charged with the among the least amounts of jurisdiction to cover

Not bad, but that's about starting pay for California Highway Patrol. With 36 days of PTO and retirement at 50 with 90% of your top 36 months of pay.

There aren't quotas, but people speed everywhere constantly.  And not a little bit either, like 20 over the limit.  So the number of tickets a cop issues is one way of tracking whether or not they are out actually patrolling or just parking somewhere for 4 hours napping.

I imagine it would be a easy as heck job. You don't pull over a piece of crap car with 4 people in it but the expensive car with just a driver that is going 5 mph over the speed limit. If the driver starts saying they are important smile and give them two tickets. Don't deal with teenagers and beer and weed and no insurance in the car just stop one car and then have your coffee and donuts for 2-3 hours rinse and repeat.

Near the end of each month, the highway patrol camps out on a freeway busy ramp where people like to use the HOV lane despite being a solo driver.  They rack up a hell of a lot of tickets in a short amount of time.  But there are no quotas.

Yes. I have seen the same habits of cops since I was a teen. I've lived in several different states over the years. The no quota thing is a lie.

LOL. Sure, because they're called "public interaction goals" or some such bullshiat, because quotas are illegal.

But you bet your ass cops still have quotas.

Interactions includes basically everything cops do like going to calls, making arrests, serving warrants, patrolling their post, and yes writing tickets.

It is essentially like any other job where you have tasks to complete and you are judged on whether you accomplish them or not.

Cops usually run RADAR or patrol for traffic when they aren't doing the other more important stuff.  So if a cop doesn't answer a single call during several shifts (or anything else) and also writes 0 tickets it is pretty obvious they weren't doing any work.

2023-02-04 7:18:35 AM
"When State Police learned of a possible falsified traffic ticket scheme by one of our members, we immediately launched a criminal investigation"

Translation:
23 people called us and said that they had gotten a ticket without ever being pulled over but these were citizens and therefore lying civilians who were trying to get out of a ticket. The 24th call was from a dead mans widow, We figured we probably wouldn't win that court case so we immediately went into CYA mode and threw the unlucky cop under the bus.

Grimaldi is co-host of the "Police Off The Cuff" podcast. He reviewed the court papers, and was surprised at what looks like a blatant scheme.

I'm shocked. SHOCKED! Well not that shocked.

Giving tickets to dead people is dangerous work! Dead people are very uncooperative and can't be tased or clubbed into compliance. Then try to get them to sign the ticket and their arm might fall off or something, getting maggots all over your nice clean uniform. Do you want to deal with the coming zombie traffic gridlock apocalypse?!

Goofus writes fake tickets to locals and gets caught.
Gallant writes fake tickets to foreign nationals who have never been to the country and wastes the traffic court systems time chasing ghosts.

/Real Gallant never becomes a cop because cops are class traitors and a tool of the ruling class.
//ACAB, abolish the police.
