Is Cadillac coming to F1 too?

Broktun: Is Cadillac coming to F1 too?

I believe so. A buddy of mine heads their PR firm, so I'm hoping he can slip me some tix... 👀

Andretti is trying, but F1 is making up excuse on the fly not to allow it.

Oh cool, Red Bull. Giving me a reason not to cheer for Ford.

Oh rather cool, they're gonna get back into GT3 with a Mustang. Nice.

Ford or Cosworth?

That situation seemed more like the "Aston Martin" engines Red Bull were using from Renault where Andretti will be buying engines from Renault and badging them "Cadillac" at least for one year.

Team Cimarron.

What happened to Honda? They're still involved in Red Bull's engine and were rumoured to be coming back for 2026. Either they weren't committed or RB didn't trust them to not walk away again.

Still, this will give Whinger Spice something else to complain about.

OR, you could flip an 80's Seville around and drive it backwards since the aero is already setup. Throw in a Northstar and a bucket seat and the Mercs are in the rear-view.

They have a key commitment to sustainability, and that's the big reason Ford's going to dump a boatload of cash into a vanity project.  Let's hope the speakers in the exhaust don't add too much weight.

The FIA did formally open the process for teams who want to join the F1 grid by 2025 yesterday. But it feels like it's going to take a lot of BS to get there. Having GM on board will help Andretti (and this Ford news might make Liberty Media be a bit more interested because of the historic Ford v GM rivalry here in the US), but I can totally see the existing teams doing everything they can to scuttle it.

I see what you did there subby. very nice

/of course once GM said they're jumping in that Ford would follow

Don't forget that the Red Bull team used to be owned by Ford when it raced under the Jaguar name. RB bought it from Ford after Ford had several miserable seasons and turned it into a race and championship winning team.

I just figured Ford has seen how terrible Ferrari has been handling things and figured they wanted another chance to beat them.

Ford is the brand partner with RB Racing.  RB will still make its own engines, it will just get the Ford name on them.

This is odd to me.  Honda has already been deeply involved in F1, with the new leadership of Honda regretting stepping away 2 years ago and them jumping back in with Red Bull to 2026, now kicking Honda to the curb for Ford doesn't make a lot of sense. What makes Red Bull think Ford's commitment to the project is any more stable than their existing partner for years?  This is a glorified rebranding like Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin so I don't know that it adds a lot to F1.  At least the GM effort looks to be an actual engine program, but the F1 teams hate Andretti and potentially diluting their closed shop valuation so it is going to be difficult to add any teams.

Ford is still bringing battery and hybrid tech to the table

Honda is still listed as a PU provider for the next set of regulations
