Later, Vincent became the head of a biker gang and fought Nazis, while Catherine hunted down cybernetic assassins.

It's mildly interesting that furry plays as a pearl-clutching signal boost on the beast more than something like "Tate-esque incel sociopath charged with sex trafficking and forced sex labor."

Dude has more red flags than a May Day parade.  I'll bet he was a hoot on the furry Discords.

Wait wait wait. Am I reading this right?

This woman spoke with police who then ... just told her to go back in the house and get more info? They let her walk back into the house for any period of time when the perpetrator in question was inside and sleeping?
------
Earlier that night, the unidentified woman told the officer that her boyfriend, Koeckeritz, had poured scalding cooking grease on her neck and back because he thought it was "funny."

"I asked why Austin would do that and she told me that is just his personality," the officer reported.
As she spoke with the officer, the woman kept glancing fearfully back towards the house where Koeckeritz was sleeping. The woman told the officer she was afraid that her boyfriend might retaliate against her if he knew she was speaking to the police, but that she was sure Koeckeritz's abuse would continue and she was trying to find a way out of the relationship.

The woman continued to secretly correspond with the police.

WTF? WTAF?

I'm glad they finally arrested/charged the guy but JFC. This is precisely the type of rare situation we legitimately want and need armed officers available to deal with. And yet here, clearly... they decided to do nothing for awhile.

Koeckeritz then found work as an armed security guard. He later wrote that the work exposed him to "the ugliest of humanity" and he felt "surrounded daily by those who have chosen to give up on life." During this time, Koeckeritz was reportedly threatened in a Walmart parking lot by a man with an aluminum baseball bat.

That part of the story checks out. If you're at Wal-Mart you've basically given up on life.

Ignoring for the moment the reality that cops identify with that sort of behavior, the police behavior exhibited here fits the template of how they handle interactions with low-level drug dealers. Only in this case, harm was being done to people in real-time while they watched.

Cops view the world through a lens of cop/not-cop, and don't care about not-cop.

That much is absolutely true, but this smacks more of cop laziness than anything else. Like it would have been SO MUCH WORK for someone to take the woman to a shelter or hotel while a couple other officers entered the house (presumably she could get in ... she was outside) and arrested the dude? At the point she says "He poured boiling oil on me", that's a felony level assault, period. This woman is lucky to still be breathing, no thanks to the cops. Perfect opportunity to actually stop a dangerous person from committing crimes in progress and ... they decided to wait and see.

Someone tell me again why it's worth having them.

Except the only person he was following on Twitter is Elon Musk. This is the kind of person that looks up to and thinks Musk is a 'genius'.
