In November, Mississippi State Health Officer Dr. Daniel Edney told lawmakers that 38 rural hospitals, or about 54% of all rural hospitals in the state, could collapse.

Ah, who needs hospitals anyway?  I mean, it's not like there's an ongoing pandemic and this is a state that gets hiat by hurricanes occasionally... they'll be fine!

Mississippiannss should probably keep in mind that one of the choices they are given have suggested that Mississippiannss don't actually want to be alive and are happy to die a pointless death to make a really, REALLY stupid point.

I am not one to like force my view on anyone but...I don't think I'd trust that guy to have the best ideas for health care.

I used to travel for work many moons ago, and one project had our team in Mississippi for a few weeks. My buddy on the team was a stereotypical good ol' boy from Arkansas. After a couple days at the job site, the kind of place where you'd fly into Jackson and then drive 2 hours to the middle of nowhere, he looked out over the factory floor and in the deepest Arkansas drawl you can imagine, remarked: "Man, this place makes Arkansas look smart."

My parents are in Mississippi. I visited them over winter break and mom told me she wishes I'll take the house when the pass. My exact response was "yeah shame it's in Mississippi. That's not happening, mom."

In April 2021, SuperTalk host Paul Gallo asked Rep. Becky Currie, a registered nurse and Republican lawmaker who sits on the Mississippi House Medicaid Committee, why she thought state leaders were continuing to turn down federal money to expand Medicaid.

"Well, because it has Obamacare, the word Obamacare-people have attached Medicaid expansion to Obamacare," she replied. "And you know, how I look at it is, it went through four years of Trump also. So can we call it 'Trumpcare?'"

Hell no you can't call it Trumpcare. You dumb motherfarkers WANTED the nickname "Obamacare". So that's what it is now. Either admit that a black man is better than you or die. Those are your choices.

Why did you edit out the parts where he detailed the innovative, free market solution that disrupt traditional health-care delivery models and increase competition along with supporting  independent, 3rd party documentation showing that the proposed solution had can and lead to better healthcare outcomes?

The best/worst part is that both Democrats and Republicans have introduced proposals for a ballot initiative, and the legislature shut it down.

Voters should really be pissed about that. The legislature is deliberately going out of its way not to let the people be heard.
