Wow, that is a totally weird headline: 'Neo-Nazi Hunter', which implies phsysical confrontations, when the interview actually contains this:

You're speaking figuratively. What does that mean exactly?
Dragging Nazis into court. Our objective is to take these people off field, using the legal system. Civil, criminal, it doesn't matter to us.

Weird way of framing it Rolling Stone!

Not allegorically, metaphorically, nor figuratively...but literally no one cares.

In other perhaps more interesting opinions, I thought 'Amsterdam' was good. Mixed reviews but from what brief consideration i gave them i found them to be pedantic and lacking couture.

Yeah. Yeah. Gravy Seals. Meal Team Six.
It's fun to sneer but also dangerous. A few memes don't change the reality that the fascist Right includes shell of a lot of current and former military, police, and much of the BJJ/MMA subculture. Don't underestimate their capacity for violence

Did the people who spent a LOT of time identifying the J6 insurrectionists report their findings to their employers?  Hitting the Charlottesville farks right in the wallet sure yanked a lot of tears, and I wouldn't mind seeing more of that.

When you've seen how horrid death and war actually are IRL outside of the propaganda...it changes your views on things.

For reasons I don't want to get into I understand this on visceral level.

Goldsmith's aspirations are unimpeachable. I do, however, see some potential issues with his plan. (1) Without a sponsor, how long can he work unpaid? (2) Without funds, he's completely reliant on volunteers. How many people can work unpaid? What caliber of investigator is available long-term on an unpaid basis? (3) What training has he received on evidence - proper gathering, validation, maintaining chain of custody - any issue that might make evidence inadmissible to court? Does he train volunteers with this information? (4) Are legal authorities receptive to the assistance he is trying to provide or jealous and territorial? Do they examine the evidence he submits or toss it into a round file because he's viewed as an outsider? (5) Have there been any prosecutions? are any planned? (6) What screening and training does he have in place to prevent affiliated volunteers from actually joining, in earnest, a far-right group?  (7) What safety protocols are in place to keep volunteers and their families safe?

I think his work might be more effective in cooperation with the state office of the ACLU, NAACP, perhaps even the AFSC or some similar organization that already exists. I wonder if he has contacted any such organizations and proposed a joint project or requested a grant?

Fundraise for the VA so they don't get to the point where I need to write housing grants when they become unhoused.

When I refer to "Meal Team Six", they're people who never served, but throw on some army surplus camo, strap on an AR, and follow an insurrection. Poke them with a stick and they cry, "MAH RAHTS!"

Surely cheaper than diagnosing and treating PTSD.

Unit readiness ratings are more important to some COs than the physical and mental health of the troops.

If a soldier is in treatment, they can't be combat ready, and are preventing that slot from being filled.

Discharges were the easy solution. Especially BCD/DD because that eliminated follow-on expenses because those discharge types rendered them ineligible for VA benefits.

Assholes. You broke them. You bought them. You f*cking owed them. It should be taken out of your retired pay.
