Please don't fix the headline. I assume since it's hiatting 50, many of the artists may soon need a new hip-hip.

'The Roots will provide backing music, and the hip-hop ensemble Black Thought will provide narration.'

Last I checked, Black Thought was a member of The Roots, not a separate group(?)

I actually read the article, but didn't get the answer to my question: what from 1973 was hip hop?

Anyway, if the answer isn't Gil Scott Heron, then it's the wrong question.

If you young people haven't heard B Movie (1980), then you should listen to B Movie. Just to realize how little things have really changed. And also because it's great.
