Another quality Fark greenlight.

This franchise needs to go sit next to Tyler Perry and Transformers on the We're Over It bench

I'd watch one with Muppets.

I watched one of this series, completely out of order, starting at F9. It was incomprehensible. Does it make any sense if I start with F&F 1 and go in order? Did they just resort to inside jokes that I didn't get? Because it was shiat.

// And I'm the one who brags about having such low standards that I enjoy basically anything I watch. Except F9.
// And Mixed Nuts, for some reason.

F9 was it easily the worst. Pick a different one.

I remember reading a review of one of the ones before 9, it said something to the effect of " this movie looks like it was scripted out by a pair of 10-year-olds playing with matchbox cars, and that's actually a good thing because it's ridiculously fun". I've always thought that was a remarkably apt description. All of them (except F9) are completely silly and awesome. I usually try to watch them with my teenage nieces and nephews.

Lordy, I remember making a 2 Fast 2 Fateous joke back when this was first announced.  The original release, mind you.  I think I may have been Farking for too long.

Yeah by random chance you picked the absolute worst of the series.  I often defend these movies as big dumb fun and worth a watch, particularly 5,6 and 7, and could find something redeeming or enjoyable in all the others except for 9, that was just wall to wall terrible.

It would make more sense in order, but the timeline is pretty silly even then.

If you want to give it another go but don't want to dedicate a large chunk of time on a risk, just watch number 5.  It was the primary point where the series went from racers and car thieves to being action heroes and can be watched as a standalone because it isn't relying on bringing anyone back from the dead or other "you need to have seen this film to understand what is happening" moments.

Apparently subby's gone beyond not reading the articles, and isn't even watching the videos.

As long as the movie obeys the laws of physics, then we'll be fine, okay?

I was hoping this was an announcement for a remake of the most worthwhile movie since Citizen Kane.

Can't remember which one it was in the franchise but watching Jason Statham rescue a baby on a plane with bullets flying everywhere was entertaining.

Has Deisel finally given up on begging Johnson to be in the next one?

The first "Fast" movie I watched was the Hobbs and Shaw spinoff.  It was basically a lower-tier Marvel movie.  I kept thinking to myself "this franchise started with street racing, right?".

1 was a Point Break remake.  2 was a rehash of part 1.  3...well 3 was different and it went away for awhile.  4 went back as a sequel to 2, then 5 happened.  With 5 the movie just kind of hit its groove.  They are dumb movies, but they are fun dumb movies.  They are my MCU.  Stupid, light, fun movies.

Yeah, that's not a thing. More like the Universal execs begging Diesel and Johnson to bring the magic back.

I walked out of the first one and never looked back until I was bored out of my mind during Covid.  My wife is a huge fan and she convinced me to binge them.

I loved it.

I'm not a car guy.  It was like when I first started watching wrestling.  I looked down on it like I was above it until I tried it.  It ended up being SO MUCH FUN.  Sophisticated?  No, but I have other outlets for that.  This was just a lot of fun and humor and booms.  And not in a Michael Bay way.

I love how they went from being a bunch of street racers that steal DVD players to international super spies that save the world.  Dumb, dumb movies, but have a huge dumb smile on my face watching them in the theater.

The best part of the FF decalogy is that they take place in a separate universe that operates under different natural law. Physics is just way more fun there.
