For one of the nicest people in Hollywood/America/Earth to have to take out a restraining order on you makes you a special kind of crazy.

Have you seen those movies? Everyone tries to kill Jim. They fail, but everyone TRIES. Let the dude take a nap.

There are a LOT of people in the world.  Even if you just narrow it down to people who could get into his general vicinity without difficulty, that's still tens of millions of people.

You know more than one of them will be an obsessed nutter.  It's shocking that the 'A list' doesn't come with a mandatory baker's dozen of stalkers given the apparent odds.

Yup. I've interviewed Keanu and, among the thousands of people I have interviewed, he is among the most sincere and down-to-earth I have ever spoken to. He probably asked this guy respectfully to leave his property several times, and perhaps offered him a smoothie or some breakfast, before ultimately getting the authorities involved. Reeves wouldn't have done this as a Weeners.

For all the 'perks' of being rich and famous it seems like there are an equal number of downsides. I know that it's not just rich or famous folk that can be the target of an obsessed person, it does seem that they get more than their fair share of loons.

If I met my favorite actor/musician I'm likely to embarrass myself by saying or doing something goofy and hoping they forget me. How can they think they can just force their way into someones life?

Keanu definitely has that reputation. I understand he's also known for always showing up on time and prepared, with his lines memorized and any stunt work he's involved in always ready to shoot on schedule. He may never win an Oscar, but he'll always have work.

Do you still do celebrity interviews?

Not so much these days; the last one was Maynard when the Puscifer album came out. He was very cool too. When I was doing interviews full-on I primarily covered music, so I was interviewing Keanu with his bandmates in Dogstar.

Also, why the hell did the filter translate my post to "was a Weeners"? I'm pretty sure I typed "as a first step," not "as a Boobies."

I saw A Perfect Circle in Nashville once. I yelled to Maynard between songs from about 20 rows back and he picked me out of the crows and gave me a "What's up?"

The filter came about because when Fark first started out, it was the en vogue thing for people to write "first post" or something similar when they came into a newly greened thread no one had posted in, so the filter was created to substitute "Boobies" or "Weeners" for several different varieties. It served its purpose as people stopped posting that annoying nonsense, but Fark left it in because it's tradition now and it's always funny when people get accidentally filterpwned.

If you're still doing celeb stuff, you should submit your stuff here to get more eyeballs, especially on weekends, We have a whole Entertainment tab for that sort of content.

That's very cool that you had an exchange with Maynard. He had always struck me as really intimidating, but as it turns out, he's a very even-keeled guy.

Oh yes; despite the relatively new date on my Fark account, I have been around for quite a while, and I remember when "f1rst:" would get filtered into, well, you know... for some reason, I thought that was specific to "Boobies" but maybe I was mistaken.

I will definitely submit here when it makes sense to do so; I primarily work in the adult entertainment industry these days, so hopefully Fark will accept a link on occasion when I have something that is a good fit.

More important than that, it is nice to have a productive and civil conversation with someone here, so thank you for that! Too often lately, it seems like this place is tailored toward getting people to snipe at each other. Thank you for being the exception to that!

If Keanu was so nice he would donate his DNA see whether they are related. Maybe the guy is nuts or maybe they are related. Still no excuse for breaking and entering.

Ok, I saw John Wick not too long ago (yeah, I know, get with the times, grandma). Um.... am I missing something? Some dude steals his car and kills his dog, and then he kills people for the next 2 hours. That's pretty much it. I mean, the Bill and Ted movies were deeper than that.

It was not meant to be deep, though there is some stuff about trauma and dealing with loss in there.

It's a bare-bones action movie with the lead character's motivation being approximately as complex as your average 80s action flick.

And it's all about the rule of cool.

Pretty much.  Did you need something deeper?  The story of the first movie is basically "Punk kid farks with the wrong guy".  The second movie just feels like DLC for the first movie and wraps up him getting his car back. After that, the franchise gets way up its own ass with the broader mythos, for better or worse.

The brilliance of the first movie is that it knows exactly what it is and why you're watching.  It doesn't waste time with depth that doesn't need to be there.  It's a lean and well-produced action flick.

I guess not, just checking. I thought there might be more to it. I watched it cuz I like Keanu Reeves.

Guess I'll stick to watching artsy sh*t like Amsterdam :)

Nope. It's as straightforward as it appears. The third one and going forward tries to make it a really deep mythos with all kinds of things going on, but I'd say that aspect of it misses more than it hits.
