I've never had a positive experience with Razer.

The latest mouse I bought from them sometimes gets confused and scrolls up when I scroll down.

Now the patina of oil and dead skin can ooze into even-harder-to-clean cracks. Sweet.

The fabrication issues with a titanium alloy are more than worth it, but I'd go with a screen effect rather than truss-work.  And I'd make the screen hole diameter sufficiently large that you could clean it with a pipe cleaner.

And it should work over an induction mat so you don't have to worry about batteries *ever*.  And that mat can also be the receiving antenna so you have no issues there, either.

Some people say you can make a symmetrical mouse, but I'd make left and right-handed versions.

Other than that, I'd want a nice matte finish on it.  Black with red trim or an olive / brown combo.  Two buttons and a roller, plus a side button for your thumb.  And maybe another roller under that thumb button for audio control or something.

No idea about their electronics, but the Razer Sphex polycarbonate mousepads are really nice.
(0.4mm thick polycarbonate plastic, basically a textured sticker you stick on your desk)

As far as this doohicky is concerned though: looks like it's both a mouse AND a grease trap.

Yeah, if I can't spill my Monster energy drink on it a couple times a month then it's worthless.

I've got two Razer products sitting on a shelf because the software sucks so bad. The hardware seemed fine, but weird scrolling from the mouse, and a keyboard that doesn't always register keystrokes. I had some luck when I could get the drivers to uninstall, but they wouldn't stay uninstalled. Some update would come along and put them back.

So farking annoying that I'm typing out a whole comment complaining about it. On my Daskeyboard, which hasn't given me any trouble.

Gamers are very discerning consumers. Let me guess, it's a 'pro' gaming mouse.

At this price point, I don't expect your garden variety basement dweller will be using one.

Also, has anyone's hands ever gotten hot with a mouse? Seems like a weird consideration when building a mouse, but then I've never played video games at the professional level.

I've got the Lrrrr problem where my giant hands hate normal mice. I need things the size of Norwegian rats.

I love Das Keyboard. I got a new Das Keyboard 4 Professional a couple month back. It replaced my 13 year old Das Keyboard Model S I bought refurbished from them. It's still fully function though I wore the letters off of the WASD keys.

they might have a market with the, 'conspicuous consumption' crowd which are notoriously oblivious to reality.
